I have stayed there in August many times and haven't needed heating. It can get a bit nippy but they provide extra blankets which have always been more than good enough for me in the past. So long as you do up you windows leaving a little gap for the air to circulate you will find they are quite cosy.

There is electricity 24rs

Can I also ask a question about the temperatures in August.

Will it be warm enough for the children to swim in the pools at the lodges we will be staying at?

Is it warm enough to sunbathe during the day in july/august?

Swakopmund is not Maryport.

You are 23degrees south of the equator on the Tropic of Capricorn.

Think Sahara! think Australia.

The sun will be hot. Take plenty of sunbloc and ration your exposure.

Wear a wide brimmed hat and watch out the kids don't burn!
