Sunrise beach few questions

Hi

We are staying at sunrise beach hotel next week and have a few questions (maybe more than a few)

What are the plug sockets? Do we need UK adaptor?

Is there wifi in the room? Is that at additional charge?

It says there is tea and coffee in the room, is that replenished?

Are there local buses or hotel shuttle into local towns?

Does the hotel have or can recommend excursions? We want to go on keep safari to monastery

We have booked a sea view room on a high floor, is it likely to have a balcony? Or are rooms allocated on arrival? I don't want a sea view but have a terrace in front of the room

How does the allocated sun beds work?

Cheers

Matt

Hi Matt - will try to answer your questions best I can...

1. You don't need plug adaptors, all sockets take standard UK 3-pin plugs.

2. Yes there was free wifi, just ask reception for the code. Additionally, there were 2 free pc's with internet connection available to use whenever you want.

3. Tea/coffee in rooms was replenished every day.

4. You're right in the centre of Protaras and bang on the beach front - there's no hotel shuttle but the local bus stops outside - easy to get to Paralimni/Ayia Napa etc and cost is very cheap with very modern buses.

5. Hotel did do excursions but we didn't use them as it's cheaper to use a local tour agency.

6. Your sea view room will definitely have a balcony, all rooms have balconies.

7. Allocated sunbeds. When you get there the guys at the pool will show you a map of the grounds and what sunbeds are available (garden/pool/strip of beach). The poolside ones at the front overlooking the beach are the most popular, and sometimes there will be none available in the spot you want to be in! You choose which ones you want and they then tag them with your room number so they're yours for the duration of your stay. We emailed the hotel 3 weeks in advance asking for poolside beds as one of our party had had a minor knee operation. When we went down to the pool on our first morning they had a copy of my email and we given exactly what we wanted - defo worth emailing them in advance!

It's a beautiful hotel and we loved Protaras. Hope that helps but let me know if you have any further questions :)

Wow, that was a quick and full response!! Basically it sounds as good as the description!

Can you recommend any excursions? / what local agent did you use?

we're not really excursion lovers tbh Matt, tho we did do a boat trip thru captain panikos which was great value and included lunch, went up to Famagusta border and a couple of swim stops inc cape greco which was great for snorkelling. Think it was about 10Euro per person. Wish we'd done the red bus tour to see Famagusta but we had mother in law with us who struggles to walk very far and it might have been too much for her. The aqua park in Ayia Napa is excellent and you can get local bus outside hotel which takes you directly there. If you check online before you go there's usually some discount vouchers. If you like to get out and about you can hire a car, they drive on same side as us.
