what is the best hotel for a couple late 40's , Iberostar?

Can anyone suggest the best hotel in Cayo santa Maria for a couple in their late 40's. We were thinking the Adult Section in the Iberostar.

Any feedback would be helpful.

My hubby and I (50) are going to the Meliá cayo santa maria at the end of March. 360 rooms ... Enough for a variety of guests but not too crowded. No on site disco but that's ok. We will enjoy some evening drinks in the bar

Have fun choosing your hotel.... There's so many

I think any of the resorts on CSM would be fine. I second MCSM as it is smaller but the food and entertainment are good. If the price difference a lot, I'd take MCSM and save the $$$.

You certainly can't go wrong with the IE!

When are you thinking of travelling?

We stayed at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria a couple of years ago and there was a disco on site.

We plan to go mid March after March break, I see the weather is already nice there. How is the wind on the beach in March?

I also noticed your handle is Cayo Largo, would you recommend Cayo Largo over Cayo Santa Maria?

Gosh, Cayo Largo is very very different! It's a great destination if you like beautiful, unspoiled beaches, where you can walk for miles and feel like you're all alone in the world. A really great spot for total R&R (and only a 7 minute ride to get from the airport to the resorts!).

But aside from the beaches, there is nothing luxurious on CL. Certainly the Sol CL is a very romantic resort, but it is not nearly as luxurious as the IE in terms of amenities.

That said, it's a very special destination... more info here and pictures here: www.cayolargo.net

The disco is there but rarely used. Most people go to the Pueblo for the disco.

Las Dunas is nicer but also much larger than MCSM.

MoineauQC can you tell me why the food (buffet) is better @ Las Dunas?
