Best Websites for Booking Vacations ?

Hey folks, a lot of people have been emailing me asking if I can tell them the best websites for booking vacations - cheap deals, best prices etc. I thought would open this up to everyone to add in their best websites they found to give best deals. Please be sure to post what country/city you depart from so everyone knows what sites are for what Counties. Here are just a couple that I use to get things started:

Canada/Ottawa/Montreal/Toronto

1. www.Sunwing.ca

2. www.tripcentral.ca

3. www.selloffvacations.com

4. www.redtag.ca

Tip: You can call the tour operator and bargain the prices with them - most people do not know this. For example, my friend and I saved an extra $140 each off our package after talking to the tour operator for 30mins.... yes, took 30mins to finally get to someone who could put the price change in but hey thats money back in my pocket for another trip!!

I like Itravel2000.com. If you have Petro points you can redeem them for a discount and you can also collect them. I find that the prices are all the same on the sites, all depends on the extra perks they are giving at the time, price protection, let it snow , etc.

I always ask if they have a better price then advertised, they'll match deals from other websites.

I fly out of Winnipeg so not as many options in Manitoba. Sometimes you have to go directly to website like Airtransat to get options from them.

I've always used a local TA, but I do my researching on-line. A good TA will match anything and sometimes can save a few $ or get some perks. Having someone I know personally and have long relationship with to call in a time of need is invaluable. I haven't had any major issues myself but I know a people few who have and a good TA can really save the day. I may be old school but I just don't trust a website for that kind of service.

When you save a few $$ off the price of your vacation its coming out of the tour ops or agents commission. Prices are set and are governed. Prices cannot be marked up. If the prices is different agent to agent or tour op to tour op then it the agent or tour op thats adding a fee. Any TA can match any online price. Question is will they??

I depart from Toronto and mainly use itravel2000. I have also used selloffvacations.com.

For booking direct with specific travel operators, I have also used Air Transat http://www.transatholidays.com/

and Nolitours (subsidiary of Transat) http://www.nolitours.com/ and Sunwing http://www.sunwing.ca/

Personally ,tripcentral is by far the best site , no other site lets you see all the hotels with the dates , all on one page , for you to pick and chose where is the best deal. All prices are all tax's and fees in .

I can see using the other sites if you have one specific date in mind ,where you are undecided where you are going and want to see the best deals for that date . But then after that , that is where there is so much time wasted , if you want to see what the price is on the day before or day after you have to go back and search all the different dates for prices , wright them all down , takes a lot of time and effort .

Any deals I have seen on al the sites, TC has the same price .

I still book with a agent I have used for years, and does not work for TC she has all of our info , and if we have any concerns , easy to call .

For the people who have not tried Tripcentral.ca, in Canada, go to it , check it out ,, let me know what you think !

I always use either Nolitours or Holiday Market Travel:

I always book online, but they do have a bricks and mortar outlet in Ontario. You can speak to a human being on the phone if you want.

Sometimes Signature has $100 off of the taxes so ends up being $100 cheaper then booking through sunwing http://www.signaturevacations.com

Just like Transat & Nolitours & Marlin Travel

Booking on-line is great until you have problems. Lots of experienced travelers who have problems swear by booking with a real person, face to face - at the same price as on-line.
