Airport to hotel cayo Santa Maria

How does the bus thing work in cayo Santa Maria? Is it one bus per hotel or does the bus stop at all the hotels and does each tour operator have their own bus? Which hotel is dropped off first? Also, for anyone who has been what is the timeline like from arrival to customs to hotel. Arriving with two kids and just thinking about food situation as we will be arriving at 5:30 if on time. Much as gracias!

The buses are different for different tour operator. For the rest, no one can tell you. It depends on the number of guests going to each hotels. You might stop at 3 hotels or only one. Usually, they drop people at the Iberostar first. But after that, it really changes a lot depending on the situation.

The bus takes about 1h30. The time between landing and the bus leaving depends a lot... About 1h-2h.

You can buy some food (chips, sandwich,) at the airport, outside or on the departure side (you need to exit to the airport, go to your left and enter the airport). That could help them wait until you arrive at the hotel. If you decide to bring them snack, don't forget you cannot take frech fruits or veggies and no meat.

It will be a minimum 90 minutes. So make sure everyone hits the washroom before leaving. Sometimes there are washrooms on the buses but are not working, or at least they tell you that because they don't want to clean them. Sometimes the driver will make a pit stop if enough people ask but that cuts into your travel time.

You can bring snacks from home it's not an issue, chips, candy that kind of stuff.

When staying at the Royalton last year we had to stop a 3 resorts before we got to ours. Don't know if that routine has changed.

Everyone is right - the bus ride alone is 90mins. Time to get off the plane and past customs and out to the parking lot will be another 30-40mins depending on the size of the flight, time of day, and if there are other flights there. The bus will depend on how many people have booked at your resort - Memories for example has always had their own bus because of it being a large resort and many bookings there so those buses go direct to the resort. Even with a bus stopping its fairly quick extra 5-10mins - just about all the resort except for 1 or two are all in a row so its fairly quick from one resort to the other. You will probably be in your resort lobby around 7:40pm. Most resorts will have 24 food and drink and even the main buffet be still open.

Note: Some of the buses do not have bathrooms on them (guy on last trip found out the hard way - bus had to pull over for the guy to use a tree!) so make sure kids use the airport one before going on bus.
