Where to go and where to eat!

Hi, I have booked the Santa Barbara Golf and Ocean club for a 6 night break for my partners 40th birthday on the 26th of March.

I have been to Las Americas once previously and this time wanted to stay somewhere else.

We will want a couple of lively nights (I am guessing we will need to head to Las Americas for this) but also plenty of nice restuarants, can anyone recommend any where we don't mind walking, we will have a hire car and can also get taxis.

We especially love seafood and tapas when we are on holiday and great service is really important to us.

I want his birthday meal to be extra special!

Thanks in advance Tenerife experts!

The Rendezvous restaurant(not the bar although the food is good in the bar and worth a visit )at Winter Gardens is excellent and I am sure if you email or pop in before you arrive they will make it extra special as very obliging.

In my opinion the best restaurant (taking everything into account) in the South at the moment is Placeres in Los Abrigos. It is the sort of place for a special occasion.

If you love sea food or tapas try Restaurante Abordo Tenerife and if not just staying around the Golf then this place for you, is the best i have to say and we have tried many here. canarybynight.net/restaurante-abordo-los-cri… Placeres is a lovely restaurant on Red Queen Blog but for us its only for special occasion's so ideal for the birthday meal and would be extra special! But its a little to fussy for me but the wife loved it i like a plate full of food but that's just me i quess

I am sure you will have a great birthday meal.

Enjoy

There is a great British pub (we don't usually go British when we're away but this one was really good), called the Mill. Here's a link to the reviews on TA:

tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g635888-…

tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g672806-…

There are two different links but they are the same place. We ate a few times in Los Cristianos at a restaurant called Fados which is on the paseo and has a good value menu del dia.

We ate most at the restaurant on Sunningdale Village where we were staying, I think non guests can eat there too, it was a bit more expensive but the food was excellent.

Hi

I agree that if you like seafood to head toward Los Abrigos (short taxi drive from Golf del Sur) - its a lovely Spanish fishing port with a number of restaurants overlooking the port with fresh fish. We took the children one year and was entertained by one of the local fishermen showing the kids the small fish they used as bait (my children wanted to set them all free - not the idea!). Alternatively there is a lovely Japanese restaurant overlooking the sea front in Golf Del Sur - we usually go there on our last night of holiday as a special treat as its not cheap. Quite fun when the chef cooks an egg infront of the diners and throws bits to be caught in the mouth!! On evenings you are looking for entertainment head to The Premier Inn (now called Woodensppons I think). Basic decor but a very friendly welcome and excellent home cooked food at a very reasonable price. Lively entertainment later in the evening with everything from Elvis impersonator to Karoke!! Hope you enjoy your holiday!
