pastida - few ?'s

Hi.

I am a first timer in Pastida and Rhodes to as only visited Rhodes town once on a day trip.

Can anyone advise nice restaurants in Pastida.

What is a normal greek restaurant

Which sites or areas are easily accessible from rhodes town or pastida. I don t plan to pay over the odds for tour operator trips.

Thanks

Gem

Pastida is a nice little village for a peaceful holiday but some years since I've been so can't recommend any specific restaurants. Not sure what you mean by a normal Greek restaurant but the average restaurant will serve International cuisine, popular Greek dishes with the likes of steak, spag bol, etc. There are also tavernas specialising in traditional Greek dishes, fish restaurants, pizzerias, fast food and so on.

This site is useful for bus timetables, taxi prices, etc. but depending on time of year, bus frequency can increase/decrease so check again before you go. Being a small village, buses aren't as frequent in Pastida but you could taxi (even walk if fit) to the next village, Kremasti for a better service.

The easiest way to get about is hire car. Pastida is just off the main road that cuts across the island and over to the East coast but is minutes from the West coast and a fairly short drive to Rhodes Town.

Hopefully that helps a little.

Hi.

Know nothing about Pastida but looking at last summers timetable there were buses to Rhodes at 0835, 1135, 1420, 1520, 1735, 2000 and 2205.Return buses were at 1100, 1245, 1445, 1700, 1915 and 2130.

Buses to and from Krematsi ran every 15 mins.

A taxi from the airport to Krematsi was 11€ and from Rhodes town 14€.

Hope this helps a bit.

Cheers

Hi,

we stayed in Pastida last year and loved it. Most of the restaurants are situated around the centre of the village, at the infamous roundabout. There are quite a few reviews of the restaurants on TA so have a look there. the ones we especially liked were the Italian (I know but I love Italian food!!), and also Nostrilemous (probably not spelled that correctly but it's right at the roundabout and they have an upstairs section).

We did walk in to Kremasti a couple of times, just to get to the beach and to have a walk around the town, but would definitely recommend car hire for a few days to explore the island properly.

Also, you must try out the ice cream at the bakery in Pastida, amazing!

Have a great time.
