Noooo!

Fingers crossed they change their minds. It would be such a shame if this route vanishes. It's so unique.

It is very sad, although this particular proposal only affects services to Benbecula and Stornoway - the service to Glasgow should be unaffected.

This would be a great inconvenience for anyone needing to travel between Barra and the rest of the Western Isles. Unfortunately we will probably hear many more stories such as this over the coming months as spending cuts in the public sector start to bite.

It is worth stressing that the Glasgow-Barra flights are not affected by this news, but this is cold comfort for anyone needing to travel to Benbecula or Stornoway.
