Sidari In September??

Hi

My husband and I are looking to maybe visit Sidari at the beginning of September this year.

We are in our late 20's and like the traditional eating etc, but also like to enjoy a good drink and a few late nights.

Can any one tell us if there are a good number of bars/clubs etc and if these are likely to be open and fairly busy early September??

Thanks

Em

Hi Emily....and Welcome to the Sidari forum !!

September is a popular time to visit Sidari...as the children will have returned home for the start of school. All the bars and tavernas will be open ('till the last person leaves...lol). Obviously it will not be as busy- busy as mid-July/end of August, but there will still be a lot of people about.

The sea will be nice and warm, with plenty of things to do - watersports, boat hire, local coach companies doing excursions. Lots of various different tavernas offering traditional Corfiot food. There are also Italian restaurants, Chinese, Indian......so lots to choose from.

There are plenty of bars, some do some great tribute acts if you want a bit of fun. There's Greek Dancing and if you like rock music - there is a live band which plays at The Aquarius in the Canal D'Amour area of Sidari.

Sidari is also a good launching point for sightseeing the beautiful north of the Island, so you could hire a car or a quad bike...

There is so much to choose and Sidari can be as lively or as quiet as you want....it has a bit of everything for everyone...

Yes September a popular time to visit the island, usually couples and older groups/families tend to visit resort once the little angels have returned to school/college etc.

Weather is still usually brilliant sunshine and good temps during the day, but temps can dip a little in the evening so a light cardi or jacket may be required some evenings. The sea though is perfect!!! like a lovely warm bath because it has had all summer to heat up making swimming a less goose pimply experience!!!! Bars and restaurants will still have a buzz of activity with tourists in resort and like Fibill says above, visit Aquarius on a Wednesday evening and you will catch the rock band. Seriously a fantastic evening whether you are in your 20's or your 70's the band are immense, and they do a good two hour set, very talented musicians and we always go and watch them when we are there as it is a fantasic evening, the food is lovely and the views are to die for too.....

Bars on the strip will also still be relatively busy, lots of bars offering various entertainment as well as music bars. Sugar Bar and SOS Bar are good hang outs in the wee small hours.

Enjoy your visit xx
