First time staying in Sidari

Hi,

I'm just about to book a 2 week holiday in June staying in the Christina Studios & Apartments - Sidari, Corfu so I just have a few questions if anyone can help me out!

1) What is the nearest beach from Christina Studios, Thomson advises the beach is a 20 minute walk away but doesn't advise which one?

2) How far is Aqualand, is there regular transport there? If so how much?

3) Any recommendations for restaurant

Thanks!

Hi, we have stayed at the Christina twice, going again in July. They are a lovely family run place with a very clean pool, good food and bar.

The nearest beach is near the main beach in Sidari, about a 15 min walk. When you get to the start of the strip, turn right. The beach is clean and safe to swim in. You have to pay for sun beds on this beach but it's worth it as there is no seaweed( it is cleared).

You can book coach trips to Aqualand in any of the tour shops in Sidari, much cheaper than Thompson! Not sure of the price this year.

There are some lovely places to eat, Bavias (behind Christina) , Salt & pepper , were our favourites. The giros at San remo is lovely also.

Enjoy your holiday! X

Hi Sofi....and Welcome to the Sidari Forum......

Sharcon has it covered!......Bavias, Salt and Pepper and a little further out Kavadias and El Greco.

Christina's are lovely apartments and you will get a warm welcome there. For trips as Sharcon says book locally - as the tour operator ones are always more expensive....When walking to the strip from Christinas try either Vlasseros which is on the lefthand side, just opposite Three Brothers Hotel on the strip, or Corfiot Travel - also on the strip, on the right hand side, just before Vlasseros.

Hi there.....price at Vlaseros Travel agency in Sidari last yr for Aqualand was 25 euros per adult.Could be a few more euros this yr or hopefully will still be the same as 2013 prices. It takes about 45/50 mins drive there on the coach.

There are fast food places & restaurants in the park, but we found them pretty expensive & not the best quality,so if you want to save abit of money, you could do what we do & take a picnic.Either make your own sarnies/rolls or buy them at good prices from the cafes in resort. There's Jeni's Cafe & Irene's Fast & Tasty, but they are at the other end of Sidari to where you are staying,so abit of a walk. Not sure what there is in ways of cafes at your end.If you do go,enjoy your visit. It's a great day out!!

Hi

You have picked lovely apartments we go back for the 2nd time in aug, there is a travel place just past the supermarkets on your left we booked Aqualand for a family of 5 was approx 100 euros takes less than an hr to get there nice drive actually up through the hills.

The food at the Christina is excellent but one of our fave place to eat was the three pigs ( down near canal d'amour ) it's pretty quiet up the christina end few places to eat on the rd into town, but we tended to either eat at Christina's or walk onto the strip & canal d'amour plenty of beautiful resteraunts

Enjoy your holiday

If you are wandering up to the Canal D'Amour, there are plenty of lovely tavernas there too....The Family for spit roasts....Konaki, Medditeraneo, Ill Strata, The Napoli, The Aquarius (great rock band there on Wednesday evenings).

Also pop in and see Jeni for a coffee, tea or beer at Jeni's Medditeranean Cafe, she's English and she is a fountain or knowledge about Sidari and Corfu....She is opposite The Three Pigs taverna on the Strip at Canal D'Amour end....

I am sure you will enjoy your trip to Sidari....Happy holidays!!!

Just back from there Friday 16th, can recommend Salt n Pepper and Oassis (a little further along road on left, past Markato Supermarket.) As stated Christinas are of an excellent standard, and the staff very friendly.
