You can swim at the beach. I personally wear water shoes all of the time as I don't want to step on a "sea creature". However, most people go in just with their bare feet.

Have a great trip!

We have stayed at the Riu Palace thrice and all those times, we noticed two things:

- there is long and quite wide strip of sand on the beach that consists of pebbles/rocks, end to end.

- there are also small rocks and pebbles in the shallow part of the ocean. We had to be careful when boogie boarding and coming to the shore. Or else we got scratched.
