Nightmare update re damaged passport with visa in!

For those who have all contributed to helping here is an update:) Drove 300 miles on Monday evening to Durham, attended a interview for a replacement passport on Tuesday. Drove home. New passport with damaged passport arrived yesterday! Today completed a visa transfer application (very similar to tourist visa, just a bit more horrifying) and now everything with every declaration form, check list going has been sent. Hopefully the next update will be positive too. In the fact VFS will apply to get my existing visa transferred over to my new passport.

Thanks all

If you bring your old passport (with the visa in it) along with the new passport, you'll be fine.

No need to get a new visa.

If they do that it'll be good. Good luck with it - it'll be fine.

I remember years ago when we lived in West London our new, pristine passports arrived in the post whilst we were out.

Unfortunately, our dogs had decided to chew mine up!!! Mrs & daughter Blues were OK. I had to rush to the passport center in London for a replacement coz we were going away the following week!!

And, last year MY passport was washed away in a flood, but Mrs Blues AND the Dog's passports were OK.

Just my luck............!!!

And they wonder why I worry every Visa time???

My goodness. What a dreadful time you have had. Just so upsetting and nerve wracking esp when busy with life and preparing for the trip. Its no wonder people choosing to go elsewhere. However once you get here all those ghastly worries and recriminations will disappear. We thought maybe our last vist but not a hope! Just booked a 3 month return next November! So good luck and have a gt holiday as you certainly need it after a that. Enjoy!!
