We are thinking of visiting Fiscardo early October , please can anyone advise what the weather will be like and will all amenities be open.
Places start to close down during October. However as Fiscardo has a resident population there will always be some shops and tavernas open. What you are likely to find is that tourist shops start to open at 10:00 or 11:00 instead of 09:00 and perhaps close at 21:00 instead of 23:00. Non tourist shops will start to revert to traditional Greek shop hours meaning they will close between about 13:00 and 18:00. Each year the season seems to get a bit longer.Although the bus timetable will have moved to winter schedule and so will almost not exist as far as tourists are concerned!
The weather will become a lot more unpredictable and more rain can be expected. We often go to the island for the last two weeks in September and always take lightweight waterproofs but often never use them. It will be still warm enough to go swimming but cool enough to go for walks.
Boat trips will probably finish at end of September but if the sea is calm enough you may still be able to rent a day boat.
Hope this is some help.
Many thanks Bob really useful information
From past experience the wind down doesn’t really start until roughly the end of the 2nd week of October, however Ionian Idland Holidays - the main tour operator in the village, operates until the end of October so some places will be open until then.
The sea and pools tend to stay warm well beyond that
I’m sure you’ll have a great time
