We were recommended to go here. It was reviewed by Nick Lander in the Financial Times a few weeks ago, only heard this which made us want to try it ( haven't seen the review ). The maitre'd was passionate about the food. They get all their beef from McGrath's butchers on Main St Lismore, a craft butcher who have their own farm, abbatoir and shop - a very rare thing now. My daughter told the waitress it was the best steak she had ever had. My wife was raised on a farm, and she remembers home cooked fresh produce " just like we had at home" she said about the meal. All 5 of us had a different dessert. The favourite was rhubarb crumble, even our 3 kids tried it and loved it, and none of them even eat rhubarb!
We ate in Ballymaloe House the next day, and I preferred the meal we had here. Give it a try , you won't be disappointed I'm sure.
