Hand Luggage (flying with Thomas Cook)

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone knew the dimensions for hand luggage? I know its 5kg. The dimensions of my little carry on case is -

Height - 45cm

Depth - 18cm

Width - 36

Capacity - 29 litres

Should this be ok or is it too big?

You are allowed one piece of hand baggage only which must not exceed 5 kg in weight or 43 cm x 28 cm x 23 cm in size. One piece of hand baggage includes handbags, laptops etc, anyone carrying any more than one piece of hand baggage will be referred back to check-in.

The frame that they use to measure hand luggage (if they measure it) will be of those dimensions. If yours is a squashy bag and it isn't full and it can be squashed into the frame it might be ok.

You might get away with it, but personally I wouldn't risk it as they are pie hot on luggage these days.

You're right.... I'll use something different for hand luggage. Between two people can you have one hanf luggage weighing say.... 7kg and another weighing 3kg to add up to your 5kg each or does it have to be 5kg per person?

It is 5 KG weight but when we checked in they didnt check anyones hand luggage for size or weight, I also carried my handbag as well and this was not questioned either. I suppose it depends on what mood they are in on the day.

If your hand luggage looks on the large side trust me it WILL be weighed as well. The reason they state 5kg is for safety reasons in case it falls on top of anybody. Use bum bags pockets etc anything that you can stuff any extras you may need. Also what i do is to pack a small fold up type of fabric bag inside ..once through check in you can use it for your duty free.
