Good Local Places to eat, less $ and more local flavor!

Going to Holetown for 3 weeks Feb - March. All the restaurants with reviews seem to the the higher end (fine dining) costly places. Although we will do a couple of them, we prefer the really GREAT local foods of wherever we are. Where would the locals eat? And suggestions for the best food at these places?

Many thanks!

Gem - when we went in May the cafeteria was open but different and somehow didn't feel the same, although the food was still good.

Try 'Marshall's' - a rum shop half way up Holder's Hill across from the tennis/basketball courts. Marshall used to work at Sandy Lane, but now specialises in great Bajan cooking. I challenge you to clear your plate here & still be able to order dessert! I'd also recommend Just Grilin, Zaccio's, and Surfside. Of the more expensive options, Lone Star is my favourite, but Cin Cin is also great. Enjoy.

We'll also be staying in Sunset Crest for 10 days from Oct. 31st. Can someone comment on how what to do in this area during this time?

You can eat in all the Restaurants mentioned above. Go on a glass Bottom Boat to see the Reef Fish and Turtles Call Marvin who owns Marvellous 1 ------------- a vintage Glass Bottom Boat, and he is brilliant with families with children . His boat is based behind Zaccios next door to Holetown Police Station cell phone 246 2472048 and he will also take you fishing if you like,

Holetown has lots of shops including Limegrove Lifestyle Centre which is full of designer outlets. You can also hire a jet ski ----------ask for Mali on the beach by Mango Bay cell phone 246 835 1380, or you can go water skiing with Andrew who is one of the most experienced Ski teacher on the west coast ., Call him on 426 2303188.

You can also relax on the beach for the day and swim in the lovely sea !

Hope that helps

Having done Marshalls, Chris's place & Wendys. We would opt for Wendys in a heartbeat. Great local food/staff/locals. Plus is you like your sports. SKY sports visible most parts of the bar.

Bit of a trek down in Fitts. But, worth the journey.

Quichi ---- Andrew's number starts with 246 not 426 ------------------that is the area code for Barbados which you won't need if using a local phone .

thanks Westiegal! I will definitely give these contacts a call. Hopefully their rates are not as ridiculous as some of the recommendations I got from the property manager which basically were $500 and up for a 4hr fishing trip.
