“Low cost/low comfort”
Review of tigerair taiwan

Reviewed 10 January 2018

Welcome to the age of getting on a plane to be treated as if you were on a crowded city bus with ads that came alive.
Leg room: forget it. Meals; don't bother it is all terrible but on a short flight if you eat before you leave there's no problem. Airport food has greatly improved in the past decade
so enjoy something on the ground.
Tiger Air sells cheap tickets for short flights in order to get you on board to try to sell you "Duty Free" stuff. You won't get so much as a drink of water unless you need to take a pill, at no cost. A woman across the aisle from me was caught munching her own homemade cookies and told "No outside food on the plane." by an attendant. ...Please-what if she were diabetic? Had to eat with medication?
Turbulence: plenty; these are smaller older planes.
Confusion at the baggage claim-you bet. Bags came to a belt marked Tokyo but not the belt marked Tokyo we were standing near.
Weigh the pros and cons before booking.

This is a Taiwan low-cost airline. Particularly suitable for flying to Japan or South Korea. Good flight time, but prices for other times are less attractive than promotion periods. Can not take your own food on the plane to eat.

Well, consider this is a budget airline, the seats are so thin but somewhat comfortable compare to others budget airline. Maybe it's because of short flying time.

Much better than expected for LCC standards, just as you'd expect for paying half of the normal price if you'd flown Cathay or China Airlines. The service is terrible, staff are young and ruthless, but as expected again, for the price you pay. Since my trip was last minute and a short haul just a few hours I thought I'd try it out, faced a big hiccup at check in - they checked me in as the wrong guest. A little worrisome and troubled when they called me over the mic to go to the counter to fix the problem, yes nobody figured it out this error until a few minutes before I was ready to board. As service recovery, they did put me in a front row, however no explanation and no apologies whatsoever. This is quite a serious problem to really think about and for the team to reenforce training on, since I do think privacy should be placed as an utmost priority for travelers.
*Tip for you: double check your name on your boarding pass after they finish checking you in, they don't verbally final confirm with you just silent and speedy procedures to get you out of the way.
