Do not fly with Thomas Cook (Condor).
I've flown across the Atlantic with many airlines, but the service on the Thomas Cook flight was the worst of all.
We flew out to New York from Manchester, and back from Los Angeles, going out on the 30th April and back on the 30th May. The flight to New York was uneventful, which is what you want. Having been prewarned that the entertainment was poor, I preloaded some movies I own on my tablet and watched those. 7 hours, just as promised.
However, the return journey was something else, and more typical of this airline, going by the reviews.
First, the woman on the bag drop desk tried to tell us that we were only allowed one carry on item. When we disputed that, she tried to tell us that the weight allowance of 6 kg was for both items (carry on and laptop bag) combined. When we disputed that, she said that was what it said on the website. So it was just as well I happened to have a copy of what it said on the website. However, she could have scammed a few other passengers with that one. The aim was clearly to get us to check another bag, and gain some extra cash.
We were delayed for over four hours at LA. No clear explanation, and no complimentary refreshments offered, as they should have done. No answer when we complained.
We finally got on the plane and it arrived in Manchester over three hours late. That's a 10 hour flight. They gave us complimentary full entertainment, but that was all. No other attempts at compensation and only a cursory apology.
The pilot told us that the plane was late because of a fault in the original plane, which meant a new plane had to be flown up from Heathrow. When that plane finally arrived at LA, they found a fault in the filters, which had to be repaired and checked.
However, I wrote to Thomas Cook and claimed compensation. In their reply, they said it was due to stand availability and so not their fault, which according to their own pilot was not true.
If the lateness wasn't bad enough, the lies and contradictions offered by the company were worse.
Don't fly this airline. Just don't do it.

Our flight to Manchester was delayed by weather in Orlando they allowed us to board then we sat on the tarmac for approx one hr+ during that time we were not offered anything, our meals were selected vegetarian and child, we were given these meals before other passengers which was nice but the quality of the meal was poor. Only the water with the meal was complimentary . The inflight entertainment was limited if u don't want to pay more but was adequate for economy class, we were given a blanket and a pillow from mco to manchester. We were to have a connection but missed it due to weather, we had to wait an additional 9 hrs in manchester, no vouchers no alternative flights offered, we were stuck, there's wifi in Manchester but it's so poor and overloaded no service is available , manchester is a filthy crowded airport, Thomas cook allowed me to notify my spouse with their company phone that we were stuck, I have been monitor Thomas cook flights and so most all run late, if u have a connecting flight you need to allow for a minimum of 4 hrs otherwise u will miss your connection flights are far apart in terminal and as stated before flights are almost always late. It seems that Thomas cook has a poor relationship with SAS airlines, we had scurried and we're escorted by staff and security out of breath sweating to make it to our connection, the plane was still there and we were not allowed to board they moved the plane away from the gate and sat there for another 10 min, pitiful! That's on SAS Thomas cook did everything to get us over there. Our flight returning from Manchester to Orlando , we Had a hard time finding the gate in Manchester poor signage, like a maze, once we did get aboard there were no blankets/pillows , the cabin was dirty, food crumb leftovers in seat we were given a bottle of water upon boarding, the meals were poor, the flight was 9 hrs plus and we wanted to get up and stretch our legs the seat belt sign was off, the flight attendant rudely told us not to walk around and then proceeded to announce that passengers could not walk in other economy passenger areas, we were then advised there was a water leak in the tank of the lavatory so no hot/cold water tea or coffee would be served and only a limited number of toilets would be available. I have contacted customer service and requested a $200 refund , I called numEros times and waited 45 min+ each time , I finally emailed them , it's been a week and still no response. All in all u r traveling thoMas cook for price only, if your schedule has total flexibility and you have no time constraints and you want to save money take them but don't make any plans

The sound system was awful making it hard to hear or understand what the speaker was saying. The landing was a truly memorable moment once we got over the jarring shock-must have had good undercarriage because it did not collapse.
