“Sardines would find it uncomfortable.”

NEW

The flight from Gatwick to Beijing was the most uncomfortable flight I have ever had, 10 hours cramped in some seats only suitable for children.
The next part of the flight from Beijing to Tokyo was a little better. But I will never use them again.
The food was not that good either and the cabin crew were not that friendly to us Europeans, I always treat people ad I would like to be treated but they hardly spoke or pretended not to speak English.

Travel Tip: Dont use it, we were three men cramped into a small space💀👻

“Avoid Flying Air China - damaged suitable”
Reviewed 6 days ago
NEW

My brand new suitcase was damaged on the flight, huge crack inside and outside, must have had something extremely heavy being put on top. I have sent 21 emails between 16th Apr to 10th July to reclaim the damaged suitcase but received no single reply from Air China Heathrow. The representatives from Air China Europe Call Centre are nice but they said that all they could do is to keep sending reminders to damaged luggage department and asked them to response who obviously chosen to ignore everyone's email anyway! My suggestion, don't even get near Air China again as the post trip frustration is ridiculous!

“Safe flight”
Reviewed 1 week ago via mobile

I was scared reading the reviews about Air China but got stuck as we already booked the flight. It was not bad at all. We were aware that the lay over was long and it was part of the price that we paid, not much. Although the check-in counter gave husband and me seats far away from each other! We complained to another crew and she rectified the issue very quick. Flights were on time, cabin crews were not so smiling but were willing to help and attend to our requests. My husband is tall and the leeg room was adequate for a long journey. Food was not appetizing but we are not choosy. The flight going back was the same although we disliked the passenger behind us who was constantly clearing her throat for the whole 9 hours. It was disgusting hearing her phlegm loudly! Maybe this is because of the "fresh air" they breathe in China. Most of the chinese passengers were so loud and coughing and loudly clearing their phlegm and spitting. We did not eat on the way back because we felt we were in the hospital. The cabin crew was nice keeping us hydrated supplying us water everytime.

“Avoid Flying Air China--even for a deal!”
Reviewed 1 week ago

Our teenage daughters got a great deal on a flight to China to work in summer camps for two weeks. The boarded their scheduled 1130am flight at noon and sat on the tarmac at LAX for nearly seven hours while they repaired the flat tires that kept the plane from departing on time. When I phoned their customer service line to see how they would be handling the connecting domestic flight, I was reassured by their representative that our daughters would be rescheduled for a flight the following morning as they missed the last domestic flight out. Lydia told me that our teens would be shuttled to a hotel and shuttled back in the morning after making an easy stop at their transit center. When they arrived in Beijing at midnight, the airport was closed, no customer service was available, and after a 45 min wait on hold with Air China's customer service line, I was told by Sarah and Crystal that it was not Air China's fault that there were no hotels, no shuttle, and no services until 4am when the gates were reopened. When asked if they would provide a well-lit spot guarded by security, a pillow and blanket, and perhaps a snack, the manager on duty said that that was not their responsibility for all their displaced travelers. Their service was unprofessional, unconscionable, and unkind. As I type, our daughters are sitting outside the gate area on the ground after 20 hours in an Air China plane. If only I could arrange for them to fly another way home! Spend the extra money and fly with a more reputable company that values their customers well-being. This is our families fifth trip to China and we will never fly with this airline again.

Travel Tip: Do NOT fly with this airline if you value being on time and treated with humanity.
