I have flowed with Air France before and did not expect to have any problems.
The way going was fine, but the way back service had deteriorated because of strick dispute within the company. I had to take 4 flights with Air France to get to Montreal, and all of them were delayed, and we missed one. We were told to go to customer service to get another boarding pass, stood in line for 2 hours, and had a staff putting people in front of us, saying that there were no more flights to Montreal that day. After 2 hours another staff came to speed up the line and in 5 minutes he gave us the boarding pass for that same day. Because they made us to wait in line, we missed Air Canada flight from Montreal to Saint John. We had to pay overnight hotel in Montreal and a penalty with Air Canada to fly us home.

We are seasoned travelers. Lots of vacations all over the world. We planned our yearly family trip as usual using Air France as the airline of choice. Never again!! Air France has gone down hill and we will probably never used them again. I will also recommend to my friends to do the same. Social media, emails; etc. anyway I can posssibly spread the word I will! Here is why.

Four of us flew business class from San Francisco to Cape Town South Africa via Charles De Gaulle. The 1st bag Air France left behind was in San Francisco. Not lost, left behind. All bags checked in at once and somehow one bag, for a sky priority business class customer, didnt make it on the plane. Now, I can overlook the horrible food they served on our business class flight. I can even overlook the semi attentive flight crew. I can’t overlook paying big dollars for priority serice and instead being given the run around and lied to about our one bag! Four days later it arrived in cape town. Four days! But wait, there’s more!

The second leg of our trip was from Cape Town to Zurich again via Charles De Gaulle. And yes, you guessed it, one bag didn’t make it to Zurich. All bags checked in at the same time. In fact it appears Air France has self bag checkin now and omg what a mess! It’s a totally backwards system. Cost savings by cutting employees is going to kill this airline alone. Anyhow, like I said, one bag, not lost. We know where it is. It’s at the Charles de Gaulle airport. Four flights left Charles de Gaulle to Zurich after our flight. Still they failed to pick the bag up and place it on a new flight to Zurich. Seems simple enough. But no, in fact so difficult when you Call to follow up on the bag you literally get the most useless people on the phone who have no clue how to get the bag from point A to point B. They may as well not have a person there are all....like the baggage drop off.

Four of us take two international vacations a year. Usually business class to several destinations. Neve again in Air France. No way we will give our money to Air France again. We used to love this airline. Very sad and pathetic what’s going on with it.

Our flight to Paris was going via Bordeaux. After we had booked it the connecting flight departure time was lengthened by an hour. AtRome the flight was delayed by 1.5 hours which meant that we would probably miss the connection to Paris. A wonderful Alitalia lady made all sorts o& changes and got us on a direct flight to Paris. However our baggage did make the flight. We made a report at Paris with Air France and were told that it was coming on a later flight that evening and should be delivered the next day to our hotel. This didn’t happen and after calls to the airport that day no one could say when they would be delivered even though they confirmed they were at CDG airport.
Calls the next day were vaguely received and it wasn’t till a call on the afternoon on the third day that we were told that they would be delivered later that day. Even though AF gave us an allowance to buy clothes it is not easy finding an appropriate bunch of shops that have the appropriate clothes. This took some time on the first day and the second day. The disorganisation of this process was amazing coming on top of the reason for it happening in the first place. It significantly stuffed up our 3 days in Paris.

This whole event is on top of a debarkle we had when booking a flight for several weeks before this one. After booking this connecting flight 10 months ago to follow on from a Singapore Air flight from Sydney, we were informed several months later that the flight was leaving from Paris 30 min earlier. This meant we could not be guaranteed to make our connection. After ringing the AirFrance to change this flight to a later flight that day, we were charged an extra couple of hundred dollars and a penalty for changing flights of over $100. We argued with them that this was all there doing and not our fault. Finally they waived the penalty but only after a lot of pushing.
The flight itself went well and was fine.

In all, we will avoid Air France at all costs in future bookings. Poor show for what is meant to be a reasonable Airline.

Excellent flight. Plus you get a snack and a drink. Excellent service. Both flights on time with no problems. Charles de Gaulle airport is very busy and not the easiest place to navigate

A very pleasant flight, the checkin was very smooth and the attendants most helpful.

The food served was very good
