“Very Late”
Review of British Airways

Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The flight itself was fine but we left four and a half hours late. The plane coming from Heathrow to New Orleans was diverted to Canada because someone went into labour and thus our flight was held up.

I used to be Silver on the BA Executive club and every time I fly the LHR-CPT route I know why I am pushing more business through Emirates:

- Cabin service is poor. Staff are simply apathetic at times
- Plane is old. Really old.
- Entertainment system past its sell by date
- Executive club lounge cannot hold a candle to DXB.

It’s sad that it’s coming to this. BA used to be wonderful now it’s trying to be a low cost airline with premium fares

Recently we have discovered that BA offer remarkable value on business class flights to Europe, known as club Europe, if you are a BA member you get offers to purchase business class flights at very reasonable value. We are a family of four who couldn't afford business class long haul. However within Europe prices are decent, you get to enjoy the business lounge at Gatwick its awesome, variable elsewhere but it saves money anyway as you not wasting time wondering the shops restaurants spending money. On board you are boarded first, served first and depart first, what's not to like?
Our last 2 flights were to Barcelona and Valletta, my girls loved it, there is a children's play area at Gatwick which means we hardly see the kids whilst in the lounge.

This is a 9 hour flight but during the summer the aircraft that BA uses on this daily flight is the marvellous A380.
Such a big plane which smooths out any turbulence and is so quiet.
Normally, I find it hard to sleep on a plane but the low cabin noise meant I had a 4 hour sleep in the way home which made for some of the jet lag.
Great plane

First leg from Cairo to London (4 hours) was on a beautiful Boeing 787, however the long flight from London to Atlanta was on a very worn/aging 777! First time flying with BA and very disappointed. Paid for special seats and they were very uncomfortable with family in front pushing their seats all the way back the whole flight so had very little space. Screaming child the whole flight didn't help either!
