“Budget airline of choice - book early”
Review of easyJet

Reviewed 13 August 2017

We've been going to a friends villa in Spain with our children for last six years during peak time August. Have always used Easyjet on Gatwick to Alicante route. I've always agreed with villa owner holiday dates available way in advance as it Pays to set up a Flight Alert via website and book as soon as Easyjet tickets are realised end November. For a family of four - tickets can only be £80 each one way on immediate release (you need to book within minutes of release) rather than £180 each one way later on. We've always arranged to have three hold bags (between four of us - at extra cost) and our car hire with Europa car via the same Easyjet booking. With two children whilst we've never paid extra for seats - with early online check in have always sat together. Actual trip on plane is straightforward and simple with self service check in at Gatwick and drinks/snacks to have on plane. Have never had a problem - reliable way of getting from A to B.

I travelled with the airline for a recent holiday to Benidorm and returned yesterday on 12th August.

Travelling with my mum who is an amputee; we requested additional leg room for our outbound flight from MAN and return flight from ALC However, upon boarding the flight we were greeted with standard seats with no additional room.

After we were checked in at the boarding gate in MAN, passengers were told there was no longer any cabin storage space and there bags were tagged for the hold. This did not happen for us and therefore I had to store my mum's cabin luggage under my seat as well as my own.

Upon ascending from the runway at MAN my mum was in possession of her crutch and this was fine but upon the descent to Alicante my mum was told to place her crutch in the overheard storage. Once landed a fellow passenger opened the overhead and had my mum's crutch fall out onto his head. It was not good advice of the hostess to place the crutch in the overhead knowing it was a health risk.

Leg room on the return flight EZY1918 was better due to being a different aircraft but still not the requested additional room.

Bag drop and special assistance were adiquate enough with the assistance at ALC being the most superb.

Overall, a mixed experience with the service. But your on board staff on the outbound very friendly, however on the return, a smile every now and again wouldn't have gone a miss.

Normal flight but what made this one excellent was the staff. Sharp and perceptive sense of humour yet very professional and efficient service.

Arrived at Bristol over 2 hrs before flight time , only 3 baggage check in desks of 24 open
Finally called forward at 06.43 for a 07.10 flight , run through security and towards boarding gate 14. 06.59 but too late. Refused boarding but still time to get our bags off , return to customer service and bags are just dumped in bustling foyer. So much for airport security.. No refund of wasted petrol and car parking
What happened to boarding half hour before. EasyJet motto check in half hour before
Awful service compounded by fact they don't respond to emails or complaints

Completely and utterly dismal. We arrived in good time at the airport and waited 9 hours for a flight which we then found out was cancelled. Since the flight was initially delayed, easy jet decided to extend its customer care system to ensure we were all well fed by handing out vouchers for 4.50€ for food in an overpriced departure terminal which got my sister a kit Kat and an apple. Easy jet did not find us accommodation and we had to find our own last minute. The people in front of us in the ever growing customer service queue had not only had there flight to Manchester cancelled once but twice and had to get up at 5:30AM to stand in a customer service queue at the back of 8PM. Horrendous performance by easy jet overall however if your too broke for anything else go for it but it's definitely not pleasant
