The service and flight was excellent however the food we got served from Frankfurt to Dubai something was wrong with it, we both had Caviar as starter, and we both had an upset stomach when we landed, and we had the food just after take off, it was the first time having got service food what was off, this unpleasant feeling continued for 3 days.

Had another pleasant experience with Emirates, just again the Addis Ababa Ground Service needs real fine tuning. The check-in service is not matching Emirates standards, neither the boarding. Other then this the flight was great and relaxing and the Cheaffaeur service in Frankfurt very attentive.

Throughout the flight the service was excellent and the staff is very attentive. The meal was an excellent choice, and I love the suite as it gives you privacy and you arrive fresh and relaxed at your destination. Just a little bit poor are the amenities they hand you over, at this price you pay you can do the same in a duty-free travel bag area. The only comment I have is the boarding service in Addis, a who know who function.

Flight was good. Excellent IFE. Lie flat ok but not up to date with competitors and you have to be tired as it is not comfortable (777). Cabin attentiveness in business could be better, then again no chance of unruly from intoxication.

SAA/EK differential in perks, e.g. bags and taxi service a hidden annoyance that, whichever way you spin it sticks with the operator.

Ground experience a nightmare, immigration queues 1/2 way to Cape Point . The "check" then a paper exercise adding to the irritation. Oddly the prior flight had endless announcements for missing pax yet no check of endless queue. Complaint at business lounge was met with "not our job"!

I did a return trip - economy out and business back. The trip out was very full, but the stewardess was kind enough to find me a seat with a vacant seat next to it. I did not have to ask her and I was able to spread out very comfortably. On the trip back, I arrived at my business class seat to be told that there was a problem with the seat and that it could not be put flat - a major issue on an overnight flight! Within ten minutes they had located an alternative seat and I had a good night's sleep on a flat bed with a mattress. Thanks, Emirates - a class above many other airlines.
