“Abosolutely Incompent”
Review of Iberia

Reviewed 15 November 2019 via mobile

My wife called me in the middle of the night from Venice, Italy. She wanted help to check in on Iberia Airlines. She had already tried to check in on a PC, an iPad, only to have the website repeatedly ask for nationality, which was clearly already entered. She then spent 70 Euros on a taxi to go to the airport only to be told she could not check in until the day of the flight. I called Iberia. They suggested I use a different browser. I used four different ones. Nothing worked. Called them back and was told she can only check in at the airport. American Airlines should be embarrassed to have this outfit as a partner. I hope they fail and go out of business. We are going to Portugal next year and it will not be with this airline.
Shameful and disgraceful!

We were scheduled to fly to Spain. Hurricane Dorian caused a mandatory evacuation for us us which made it impossible to make our FIRST CLASS flight. They did not allow us to rebook, no refund. However, our connecting flight on Southwest allowed to rebook with no penalty!! Kudos to Southwest and SHAME on Iberianair for taking advantage of us.

Actually we had 4 flights on Iberia in three weeks. Mexico City to Madrid, Madrid to Brussels, Amsterdam to Madrid, Madrid to Mexico City.
Read many reviews before our first flight and I was thinking O.M.G. what did we get into. It turned out to be one of the best flights I had ever taken. The service was excellent and the food was above average. Our domestic flights were average as a domestic flight goes. The international legs were above average. Yes, we would fly Iberia again.

One of the worst inboard services experienced in 20 years
Seat excellent due to tier status
IFE very good
However crew extremely arrogant and demotivated. Only one drink service for dinner then crew disappeared for break. Nobody appeared until 1h30 after pressing service button. Worst European airline experienced so far on long distance. Very sad because their short haul subsidiary Iberia Express is excellent. However long distance does not seem to be their core competence. Never again

If you want to be confined for 8 hours in a space design for a three year old child, fly Iberia...if you want to have food donated by The pakistan army, fly Iberia and if you want to be treated as a serial killer, fly Iberia..and remember that you will have to pay for this!
