Great modern plane spoilt by the inevitable "African" time of arrival, which could spoil planned connection flights later on if not adequate time is allowed for custom clearances.
Hard landings concern an ex-pilot.

The flight from DXB to Nairobi was dilated for more then one hour and we stayed in a plain, this cosec forum to miss connection flight to Zanzibar. They didn’t wait for us ( and maybe 15 people more), but they left to Zanzibar with our baggage instead. The first available flight was after 12 hour..... we even could not use our room in the hotel they provide for us, because it was very depressing and smelly.
Unfortunately we lost one day from our short vacation because of Kenya airlines.

Each time I am booked on KQ I dread to travel!!
Used KQ about 8 times now.
No idea what happened to this airline, staff are from hell, arrogant & plain ignorance from them!
I have seen many customers complain in flight, i have no idea how they are stil making a profit with such terrible service, food is ALWAYS the same, never changed, beef stew with rice or chicken with with potatoes, I have tried plenty of times to pay extra online to get a different meal, money gets deducted however as soon as I am on board....nothing and they aren't aware, always blame the floor staff instead.

Not a cheap Airline either, worst airline to use,

First they said the flight was delayed by 2 hours, then later the message came that it was delayed 13 hours! The only positive was that they did text me with the change of time. The flight was very full and even then didn't leave on time. At least I didn't have an connecting flight, some of the others had real problems re-booking flights.

The flight was punctual, I felt safe in the aircraft and the food was edible (though not at the level expected for a flight this expensive).

After visiting Sierra Leone and Ghana I guess that offering scheduled services to West Africa meets its own level of challenges.
However, Accra is a hub for many well-known names in the industry and if Kenyan wants to compete, they must get their act together.

The air fare was very expensive for a 2.5 hrs flight, the food was only edible but not good, and the cabin staff took to shouting at passengers if they did not understand right away.
This must certainly improve. If you pay a royal price, you expect to be treated royally, even in economy class.

Overall this was an average experience and there is a lot of room for improvement.
