“SAS Lounges are Sub-Par”
Review of SAS

Reviewed 22 October 2017

I appreciate the "Scandinavian" philosophy of "understatement", however their lounges are very sub-par. The lounge in Trondheim, Norway is nothing more then a second rate coffee bar (no suitable breakfast available) and Bergen's Business "Gold" level is anemic with respect to healthy food (a few slices of meat, sour yogurt and cheese) and its bathrooms are unclean and the lounge looks dreary and unkempt. Too bad, as their Heathrow lounge is good, although Lufthansa Lounges are second to none.

This flight was jam packed due to previous cancellations. The seats were extremely uncomfortable. Very little cushion and basically no leg, arm or body room.

This was again Nordic class meaning, smooth flight, good leg space, clean. It is always a pleasure to fly with SAS.

While the overall flight was very good, we had a unique but different experience flying with them. As soon as we reached cruising altitude many people got out of their seat to chit chat in isles. Like I mean many, the spouse and I were wondering if an extended family got on or if it was cultural. Regardless was still a good flight, just a different experience we can say we have never seen before. It was a great flight, just a little chaotic due to everyone. Would fly again to see if the party was just a one time thing or something to plan for.

Best things first. Their membership programme is good and it is fairly easy to pay for trips with points. They have many flights KRS-OSL throughout the day. Prices are high, one needs to book in advance, preferably by more than two weeks.
Service is good before, under and after the flight. Morning planes are often packed and you don't get much extra for paying for SAS Pluss.
They have a neat app, easy to use for booking and keeps good overview of points and tiers.
