This was my 11th visit to this village (I'm a diver). First, the overall ambiance of the village is excellent! I wish Club Med had more adults only villages like this. The Chef de Village (Jessie) and the GO team are great and everybody is super friendly. The diving op is run by Seafari: the manager (Nick) and the team (Chelsea, Gabby, Greg, Clidel, Hugo, Pierre, Nico, Valerie and boat captain Claude) are all super professional and yet know how to have a great time. They truly make diving a pleasure! I met several people who took up diving and got their certifications while there and they were very pleased.
On a less positive note is the state of the property. Club Med truly needs to shut it down for a month or two and conduct some serious renovations. For starters, they need to redo the tile floor in the bar area. I swear this is the same floor I walked on when I first visited in 1991. The tiling is uneven and has pitted places; ladies should NOT wear spike heels anywhere near it. I myself tripped and fell there while wearing flip-flops and I saw several people stumble, too.
A specific note here for those who smoke: the law in Turks & Caicos changed in June and smoking is currently forbidden anywhere but in specially designated areas. CM set up a nice area with a table and chairs...This was my 11th visit to this village (I'm a diver). First, the overall ambiance of the village is excellent! CM set up a nice area with a table and chairs and a parasol behind the theatre, but for how long they'll be able to do that is unclear. I suspect by next year, all outdoor smoking on the islands will be banned. So if you smoke, you should check this out before you book. More
