Alison and Des were truly amazing hosts during our one night stay at Ditchling Beacons. After hiking a whole day we were welcomed by a tea, coffee and delicious scones. This was something exceptional service (in a positive way). The room was cosy and nice and the lounge room was like big and trendy living room. The breakfast was top quality! Location perfect for hikers. 15mins walk to Ditchling Village where you can have nice supper!

I stayed at Meadow Cottage with a friend last weekend. The location is ideal for walks on the Southdowns. Everything was perfect. We arrived by car from Belgium in the afternoon and Alison prepared tea with scones for us. The rooms and bathroom were very comfortable. It was cozy to sit in front of the fire place in the evening. We received bathrobes, slippers, shampoo, conditioner etc..like in a 5 star hotel. The only thing I missed was a hairdryer in the bathroom. I'll be back next spring!

Arrived off the South Downs, exhausted after a full day of walking, and were greeted with fresh coffee and cookies. Quick cuddle with the adorable dogs and then shown to our spacious and private room. Fabulous hot shower, quick change and the lovely owners gave us a lift to their local pub (and a torch to find our way home safely) where we had hearty, healthy, honest food! In bed by 21:30 and had the best night sleep under a fabulous feather duvet! Breakfast is our favourite meal of the day and so many people get it wrong but this was exceptional...just perfect! In summary, a gorgeous stay in a delightful guest house which we'd whole heartedly recommend to anybody!

My husband and I spent two nights here and it was just what we needed after a hectic big family Christmas! Alison was the perfect host and the inspiration behind our next holiday to Nepal after she shared her experiences with us! Whilst her husband Des was one of the happiest people we have ever met! The breakfast was delicious and room cosy and quiet. We were made to feel very at home whilst also being left to enjoy some R&R. Will def be back one day!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a night having visited Brighton for the day. The B&B is about 5-10 mins from Hassocks station in a taxi (£6-10).

It was PERFECT for what we were after. Incredibly friendly service, very comfortable and well decorated bedroom and a shared dining room/living room for the guests. Alison and Des were very welcoming and helpful with any questions that we had. The breakfast was spot on and set you up nicely for a long walk on the Downs. I could not recommend this place more!

Room Tip: We stayed in the smallest room and it was easily big enough for two people

Fantastic hospitality and service. Would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Alison and Des were the perfect hosts. Really would expect to pay more for this standard of bed and breakfast. We will be back next summer with our daughters.

Stayed at Meadow Cottage for 1 night while walking the South Downs Way. We were made to feel really welcome and looked after with tea and cakes on arrival. The whole place was really relaxing and cosy with a roaring log fire. The rooms were comfortable and furnished to a very high standard. Breakfast was brilliant and the packed lunch that was prepared for us for the next day was perfect. Visited a lovely pub in Ditchling which we reached easily across the footpaths - so location was ideal too! We were really happy with our stay and Alison and Des really were the perfect hosts - we will remember our stay at Meadow Cottage very fondly.

Room Tip: Double rooms had a shared bathroom but was not an issue for us - great shower!
