All I can say is that every time I leave this place I leave behind a little piece of my heart. This was our third trip to the resort and I cannot praise the staff enough for making our holiday truly special every time. Firstly to commend out travel agent Mr James Wilson Caribbean travel expert of Best@travel for consistently providing a top quality service even when things out of his control alter the best laid plans for accommodating our needs every time, the consistent customer service means we will remain loyal customers.
From the very moment you arrive in Barbados Palm islands presence is warm and welcoming the resort rep guides you and helps with any concerns swiftly takes you to your inter island transfer, this is also provided when leaving Barbados- a very nice touch.
When travelling to palm you must be aware that it is a long journey that requires both the weather and transport to behave and be aware that you may require a stopover or overnight bag if necessary.
When you arrive at the jetty the warm welcome from management and staff at Palm immediately makes you feel at home and at ease, no signing in until the following morning, bags taken directly to your room, which are beautifully appointed, extremely comfortable, and exceptionally clean, the new addition of windows and upgrade of air conditioning is superb, in fact there have been many small discreet alterations since our last visit 10 months ago which have added immense comfort and quality to this resort.
I could go into infinite detail about Palm island, the scenery, flora and fauna, seclusion, peace and tranquillity, beach location, views, food and beverage, gardens, facilities, excursions, but in reality all this would not be as so profound if it was not for the immense amount of effort and hard work that goes into keeping this place so special, this is one place where the people make it happen from the moment you are woken in the morning by the birds or the sea, to the short walk home in the evening to you room again turned down and lit you are conscious only discreetly that you are being looked after on another level, when people speak of customer service and anticipating your needs the staff on Palm island do their utmost to make this happen in a way where you do not even need to speak.
Of course I have found my piece of paradise and cannot think of anywhere else in the world that offers everything I want out of a holiday.
If you’re looking for marble bathrooms, chandeliers, silk robes, caviar you should not come here, if you want to feel right at home in a comfortable, clean, safe environment, love and can respect nature at its best, live a lot, laugh a lot, eat good quality food and drink well, enjoy the feeling of owning your own little piece of paradise and enjoy good company in the evenings then go right on and book this holiday it is more than you could ever imagine.
Once again I could make special mention of each and every person I came into contact with on this holiday, Management, front of house, back of house and could speak of them all individually but this would take a very long time so once again "A VERY MASSIVE THANKYOU TO EVERYONE ON PALM ISLAND YOU HAVE LEFT ME WITH A LOT OF HAPPY MEMORIES ONCE AGAIN AND GOD WILLING I WILL BE BACK AGAIN VERY SOON."
Many, Many thanks Tom and Nicola Fry xxx

From the moment I stepped off the boat at Palm Island I felt relaxed! The staff is so fantastic, the views spectacular, the food was wonderful and the accommodations were top-notch! You can choose to go exploring, both on island or off, or choose to do nothing at all. I personally recommend the trip to Tobago Cays though, it was just splendid! The water is so blue, and the boat staff were so gracious and fun. A great resort for couples, but I went alone and enjoyed every moment I was there. My only problem is figuring out when I can get back! :)

This is just the perfect holiday destination ever! We visited again this year, it was our fifth time...and every year we are never disappointed. The Island itself is beautiful, with clear turquoise sea and white sand beaches. The staff are so friendly and make you feel at home... nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent, fresh and beautifully presented.
The rooms were just lovely, and kept immaculate every day, with a beautiful sea view from our balcony. This is such a relaxing peaceful place, very unspoilt and with the iguanas roaming the island you really feel you are somewhere special.
We cycled around the island every morning enjoying the beautiful views in every direction. There are sailing excursions to the Tabago cayes which is an adventure in itself.

I can not praise this enough!

I just can't say how much I love Palm Island, the resort, it's management and the warm and wonderful staff. I traveled as a solo in August just 3 months after my last stay in April with my husband and my most favorite friends! I was in desperate need of a little R&R. i decided to travel in August alone because my husband was unable to break away from work. At first I was unsure that traveling so far by myself was a good idea but once I arrived I realized just how good it felt to be there. I was safe, relaxed and made so comfortable by the staff . They are more my family than most of my blood relatives! Love to Grafton, Kevin, Naishiair, Noreen, Kenroy,Luke all the staff at the Royal Palm and please forgive me for not naming all!!!!!! You are all just the best! Many folks say that people should not go there as a solo but I totally disagree. Yes, most guests are couples but if you are comfortable by yourself it is the perfect place to go! Granted, you are not going to find a date there but if relaxation is your primary goal, THIS is the place!
I was blessed with outstanding weather, blue skies and blue water ! My beachfront room was spotless thanks to Vyonne and Margaret and never needed to ask for anything! I am counting down the days to our return next spring! Thank you, Ancil for the fabulous food and I'll be looking for that dance next spring at the barbeque!!!!! Thank you, Chris for welcoming me back and making the resort feel so much like home for me. Warm regards to all!!!!

Room Tip: Loved my beachfront #11.... A/C was great and could still hear the crashing waves!

This is a very nice resort. The Beachfront rooms are the best! Beachfront rooms right on the beach are rooms 7-19. We were in 14. Beachfront 24 & 25 are set back along with the lofts. There are some other beachfront rooms on the other side by the pier area, but I don't know the numbers of those. The whole island is just beautiful and really worth going to if you are looking for a romantic, quiet, secluded, Carribean vacation! Had a wonderful Birthday celebration. There are alot of honeymooners here, in fact almost all of the great people we met were honeymooners :-)

Staff was very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. I was surprised that people weren't tipping for the excellent service they were recieving. We are so used to giving tips at all of the all inclusives we have been to and if the service is good we tip! I would strongly reccomend doing this because they work so hard! If you ever need anything, or want something prepared a certain way or want more of anything on the menu (or not) they don't hesitate to fulfill your requests.

Beach is just beautiful. Never had to "stake" out a chair or anything...always enough shade, sun , palm trees and chairs to go around. Do take the Pink Lady excursion to the Tobago Cayes. You get to swim with the turtles! That was awesome!

I guess if I had to make suggestions, I would always double check with the reception area for your excursions, and anything else you plan to do there,,,,(including return home info) they seem to be little bit disorganized....but it was ok. Do use the bug spray, and don't wear perfume. It's not as bad as some reviewers had complained about!

It takes a while to get there but I would say Definitely Go!

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms 7 through 19 are the best! A.C. worked great! Lofts are set back from the beach, wo...

We absolutely loved our week-long stay in Palm Island for our honeymoon. The resort, activities, and staff were all amazing.

Service
Chris has put together a dynamic staff that is there to truly go the extra mile. I'm not sure if I've ever stayed at a resort that has been so accommodating and friendly. We went on a deep-sea fishing expedition and brought back a barracuda -- the chef was happy to prepare it for us for dinner!

Bugs
I should preface this by saying I was nervous about the bug situation after reading reviews on TripAdvisor, so much so that I questioned whether or not Palm Island was the right choice for us. I was pleasantly surprised to learn how grossly exaggerated those statements about the bugs were. I was diligent about using the complimentary bug spray when I left my room and maybe got three mosquito bites the entire time. Anywhere in the Caribbean you will encounter this problem -- it is not unique to Palm Island.

Accommodations
For the price you are paying per night I must confess it the rooms are slightly rugged. However, they are very clean. I never found a bug in my room either. We spent 2 nights in the beachfront room (room 9) and decided to upgrade to the island loft for more privacy. The beachfront rooms are beautiful but are right on a main path -- would have been totally fine with this but as it was our honeymoon we wanted something more special. We upgraded to the island loft and got what we were looking for. Private beach, beautiful rooms. Only downside was the island loft's air-conditioning did not sufficiently cool the large room.

Dining
We were very pleased with everything they had to offer on the menu! And, of course, the service was always exceptional. I'd recommend the dinner under the heart for special occasions such as a honeymoon. I was initially skeptical but it was nice to have a break from the dining room full of familiar faces.

Activities:
We loved deep-sea fishing! The cost is the same for any number of people up to four ($480) but well worth the adventure. Bertrand, the captain, was friendly and relaxed. We also did Pink Lady snorkel trip. It was fun, but I would be interested to see what the Yannis offers. There were 6 guests on the trip and the boat itself had tight sitting quarters. I took a dromamine pill as I get seasick easily and would recommend the same to anyone who did this trip. The picnic lunch was also very cute and enjoyable -- hammocks #3 and #4 seem to be the best ones and offer the most privacy.

Bear in mind this resort is really geared towards couples! I wouldn't recommend it to solo travelers, or families with children.

Room Tip: Avoid oceanfront rooms 7 and 8 if you are looking for privacy

If you enjoy being on a private island, relaxing on a white sand beach, reading lazily in an island library, eating à la carte, enjoying cocktails on your own or with fellow guests at the round bar and being treated very well indeed then Palm Island is probably for you.

From arriving to the warmest welcome to waving goodbye to Chris the GM and his team, we had the greatest time.

We were fortunate enough to spend 2 weeks on the island and every single day was wonderful. We snorkelled, swam, sunbathed, kayaked, played pool, volleyball and golf, and walked and cycled around the island.

We enjoyed a day trip by catamaran to Mayreau and Tobago Cays where we snorkelled with turtles and saw one of the locations for Pirates of the Caribbean!

In the evenings we enjoyed delicious food, entertainment and especially enjoyed the rum night!

Chris and his team regularly ensured we were enjoying our stay and EVERYONE delivered great service. The best compliment I can think of is that if I was opening a resort, I know that if I poached every member of Palm Island staff my resort would be very successful. Failing this, I would ask Chris to recruit an identical team if it was possible.

Ultimately, we came away feeling relaxed and refreshed, and very much look forward to returning again one day.

Room Tip: All rooms are very good - villas are amazing!!
