We visited the Warkworth House Hotel for an evening meal as we like to sample different places when staying in an area. Boy we were disappointed. We were the only ones there until another couple appeared. The bar attendant was the best part of the evening and they ensure that they keep him. The menu was limited but that was not a problem. I chose fish and chips and my husband rib eye steak. When they came neither dishes looked great in presentation. My fish batter was very pale and looked under cooked. The chips were pale frozen thin american fries which is disgusting for a restaurant of this standing to serve. I should have complained and sent it back but I ate part of the fish. My husband said the steak was lovely but small for the price. We ordered desserts and they were in a different class, they were homemade, beautifully presented and the taste out of this world. I would have complained if it had not been the really nice waiter. But we certainly will not return and would not recommend the place

Had the four course festive menu in the restaurant, presented with a glass of pink bubbly and nibbles on arrival (nice touch) Meal was well presented, very tasty and hot, plenty of extra veg if required, service excellent, attentive and friendly. Good wine list and house wine to a good standard

We had a lovely meal here one night during our stay in Warkworth over the new year. Although we only ate in the lounge bar the six of us had a variety of food off the limited menu and all enjoyed the food(I had the beef stew and dumplings)very tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the bar is very dog friendly too.

We popped in here for a quick drink on New Year's Eve.

Despite the staff being very busy with a full hotel, a New Year's Eve party and a full restaurant, they were so friendly and lovely and took time to talk to us.

We were also really impressed by the way the staff communicated with each other on such a demanding night. We got a sense that running the place is a proper team effort and that's so nice to see.

We'll definitely be back, hopefully to stay at the hotel as well!

Fairly plain bar that could do with a spruce up. Bar staff excellent and very friendly.
Food was decent. Small choice but tasty.
