We enjoyed a fabulous evening at the Jackdaw. The food was excellent. Service was efficient in relaxed surroundings.

We had been to this restaurant before last year and had a lovely meal, although there was little atmosphere. The meal itself was lovely.

We decided to go again this week, to have a cup of coffee and a scone. We were greatly by the same gentleman and shown to a table. The items for sale have reduced greatly in number but still interesting enough for a look see.

We ordered coffee and a scone and that was what we got. Even though the scone on the menu advertised cream and jam, we were only got butter. The gentleman serving was taken aback when I asked for jam and was obviously oblivious to the fact that he could 'up-sell' the scone to make more money. I was not offered cream (and felt it a bit intrusive to ask again!) He was in a world of his own as we tried to start up a conversation with him and he scurried away as if frightened.

If we go to the are again I think this time we will try a more friendly cafe/bar. There are plenty to choose from

Had a really good meal here while visiting Warkworth, the food was very tasty and obviously locally sourced, attention to detail was second to none. I had the ribeye steak which was probably one of the most succulent I have ever had, my wife had the Lemon Sole which was also very good.

Had we bothered to check out the "shop/restaurant" we wouldn't have booked to be honest. It was cold, there was zero atmosphere and the music was bizarre. It feels like you are sat in a shop, no tablecloths just old fashioned placemats butted together. The food was slightly better than average to be fair but over priced - we could have eaten at the local pub for less than half the price for food just as good. £20 for a bottle of Rosé wine was a bit steep too. Can't really understand the reviews it's had sorry
