Although this is situated along a busy and nondescript road at Parley Cross, near Ferndown, it manages to provide a superb ambience inside and out. It has a large, simply grassed and natural, outdoor seating area with benches at the back, framed by large and beautiful oak trees and meadows beyond. This is surprising peaceful and relaxing. The inside is capacious and full of smaller areas cleverly contrived to provide intimate dining areas, and beautifully decorated with taste and style. The food choice and beer variety were very good and ranged from the plain to the unusual, and all beautifully served and generously portioned. I had a chikken tikka, which came in a deep bowl on a plate with rice, naan bread, a poppadom, and little pots of mango chutney and yogurt and cucumber. It was delicious. I also had a side salad, which was a whopping portion which three of us shared.Service was pleasantly provided, very friendly and efficient; you ordered at the bar. The prices were extremely reasonable.
