“Abundance of Fauna and Fungi”
Reviewed 11 October 2013

This ancient wood is tucked in between Greenham Common and the Kennet & Avon Canal south of Thatcham. At different seasons it offers a variety of different fauna. It is especially abundant in fungi. It has a small car park which may be difficult to find. Probably best approached on foot from the north perimeter of Greenham Common (Burys Bank Road).

“If you can find it, then worth a visit.”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

My partner and I really enjoy Bowden Woods - though she is of the opinion that perhaps I should not enter a review and possibly encourage too many others to visit!!! Naturally the weather can have a major bearing on a visit and though we go throughout the year the ideal time, in our view, is during the bluebell season when the Woods are a real delight. Some of the main pathways can we walked whatever the weather but others that wander off the beaten track can be a bit difficult following bad weather. Will be interested to see if any other tripadvisor correspondents get round to writing a review!?
