Let's get negatives out of the way first: the place is aging and needs to be renovated. You will see chipping paint, scuffed furniture, etc. I was first there in 1998 when it was fairly new and it does not appear to have been renovated since then. You can tell.
At the same time, if you are not expecting a five star experience this is a highly enjoyable place to go. It is a short drive from the San Juan airport and has a variety of restaurants, ranging from upscale Italian to a beach bar to a deli with very reasonably priced items. Rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The pool area is lovely with separate adult-only and family pools and the property is right on a decent beach. The staff are friendly and helpful (overall) and it is an easy property to like, especially if you get a good off season rate. This place often goes for $86 on priceline which is an incredible deal.More
