My wife and I spent 6 nights here for our honeymoon and we loved it. It's hidden away from the main roads and you really do feel like you are deep in the rainforest. We stayed in the tree house suite and loved it! we really enjoyed the bath tubs on the balcony overlooking trees and the side of a mountain. The place is lovely with very cool decorations, there are ducks, chickens and dogs roaming around and the hacienda is also a horse ranch. The breakfast is delicious and they give you so much food! The staff is extremely friendly and attentive from Marta who we booked through to Maria who cooks and cleans the rooms. Only negative is that they host weddings there so the weekends were a bit noisy but during the weekdays it was not an issue. We will definitely come back again and are in fact highly considering renewing our vows there in the future!!

We stayed here with two young kids for one night on our trip to Puerto Rico. I wish I had planned more days at Hacienda. The place exceeded our expectations. It was full of surprises. Beautiful decor and location, breathtaking views and delicious breakfast. The staff was very helpful. They had set up two small cots for the kids.We had a peaceful stay and enjoyed it. The kids had a fun time too.

Our family of 4 (with 2 young boys) stayed at HSA for a couple of nights last month as part of our 10-day tour of the island. We left there wishing we had been able to spend more time at this wonderful retreat. Even though HSA is located just a few minutes from some of the main attractions in the area, it feels like a completely different world once you enter the grounds - secluded, peaceful, and relaxing. The setting is gorgeous, with every building blending into the landscape surrounding it. The horse farm was wonderful, especially for the boys (they loved being able to pet some of the horses). Our room, the "tree house", was very clean and had wonderful views that included a glimpse of the ocean through the trees. The bed was very comfortable and gave us an incredible night of sleep. On both mornings, the breakfast was fantastic, with fresh fruit, juices, milk, a local dish, and cafe con leche to die for. Our boys really enjoyed the pool, which provided a great way to cool off in the afternoon. The staff was all very friendly, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Marta was so very friendly and helpful, giving us bits of information to help us make the most of our stay. Linda, the owner, made us feel like family. We shared stories and learned a lot about HSA and the surrounding area. We were going to take one of our days while there to explore El Yunque on our own, but Linda introduced us to someone that could take us on a custom, guided tour of part of the non-tourist part of the rainforest. This tour ended up being the highlight of our entire trip. While not specifically related to HSA, we were able to go on the adventure of a life time because of Linda (thanks Linda, we love you!). We visited parts of El Yunque that were beyond breathtaking, and there wasn't a single other person in sight during the whole trip. It was a true adventure in the wilderness. PM me for contact information if you're interested. Back to HSA, seriously, I can't say enough about this place or the people there. It is a must see and must stay place and we will definitely be back.

For the typical suburban or city driver, be forewarned: To stay in a hacienda that is adjacent to a national treasure like the El Yunque rain forest is a unique experience. And it is totally logical that such a place would require driving on a narrow, winding, steep road. At the end of the road, is a hacienda with similarly challenging internal roads and the reward of old world Spanish architecture, hospitality, charm and breakfasts. If you are seeking a refuge in nature, away from commercialism and high pressure, the Hacienda offers you the opportunity to recharge in a peaceful, natural setting. Be prepared to be surrounded by the lush rain forest fauna and glory in the birds, iguanas, horses, dogs, and frogs who will welcome you!

Note: There was cell phone access but no televisions. A wonderful way to leave bad news behind!

Ask if there is going to be a wedding on the grounds during your stay and then ask for a room farthest from the party.

This is a bed and breakfast unlike any you'll have seen. It's set on a serious horse farm at the edge of the rain forest, Very quiet, very private, The setting is truly spectacular because of the natural beauty, and because the owners have created an enormous house--more a collection of living spaces--with no walls. The rooms, however, do have walls, and they were very comfortable.

The owners were excellent, generous hosts and delightful company. Breakfast was as beautiful as it was delicious, and the staff was very accommodating.

We would eagerly return here. They also own a rental villa on a nearby hilltop. We went to visit it and were dazzled. We hope to come back soon.

Room Tip: The two rooms that overlook the pool are particularly nice. They were about to open a new room that...

this incredible and unique place is located in the middle of the forest and it's very easy to find if you follow the direction that will be given to you by the staff.
It's halfway between San Juan and Fajardo and it's close to many restaurants, supermarkets etc.. (most of them are 5 minutes drive). But when you are inside this property you'll fell thousands of miles away from everything. It's really incredible.
The room we had was clean, very nice and with a good size bathroom (shower only, no bathtub). There is now TV but honestly we could not care less! It has lots of space to store your clothes too.
The air-conditioning is kind of noisy but it worked well.
They make the room everyday and change the towels too.
The only negative note about the room is the humidity. In our case I'm sure it was higher due to the lots of rain that had come down. I'd recommend to keep the air conditioning system on while you are away during the day so the room will be dry when you'll be back at night.
The internet connection in the room was excellent and incredibly fast.
When you go back to sleep at night, the only noises you'll hear are the one from the forest which are incredibly relaxing and unique.
There are lots of area in the main building where you can hang out and enjoy the views and the place. Most of the pictures posted cannot really explain how beautiful is this place.
Linda and Greg (the owners) are simply great and very friendly. They make you feel at home and they give you lots of great recommendations on restaurants and places to visit.
We really had a great and fun time with them!
The breakfast is amazing! The only "standard" part are the eggs and bacon (the eggs are the one made by the chickens that are in the Hacienda) which are super! everything else changes every day. They prepare some local dish too, which is very cool. Portions are very generous so you'll have plenty of food to keep going for most of the day.
I definitely recommend this place. It's an experience you'll remember
Quick recommendation: don't forget the mosquito repellent and put it on before you go to eat breakfast.
