“Absolutely Fabulous”

I was looking for a complete relax and unwind break for my wife & I and booked the Hotel at the last minute for a 3 night midweek stay. I had been offered a Deluxe Lake View Room with Dinner B&B board and to be honest was a bit worried about how much of a lake view I would have from the room and at being commited to having dinner in the Hotel every night.
I shouldn't have worried, the room was fantastic and opened the curtains on the first morning to spectacular open views across the lake and mountains. The menu, the food and the service in the Lake View restaraunt was first class and the fact that we had to get dressed for dinner made it seem that little bit more special. We used the Spa facilities every day and these are on a par with the best - the outdoor hot-tub overlooking the gardens is something special. The atmosphere in the hotel and the friendly professionalism of the staff just made this the perfect relaxing break that we had been looking for. WELL DONE TO ALL AT ARMATHWAITE HALL - when in need of some true R&R I'll be back.

Excellent hotel with first cass staff and delicious food. We only ate in the Lake View Restaurant but other guests comments on the Brasserie were very good. We had a room in the older part which had a small terrace and view of the lake.....stunning! The spa and facilities are fabulous in fact the best we have ever seen. My husband really enjoyed his surprise birthday present and we shall recommend Armathwaite Hall to all friends and family.

We have just spent an amazing weekend break at Armethwaite Hall and already planning a return visit. We only booked 4 days prior to going , requested a club room but got upgraded to a suite (never had this kind of luck before!) and wow what a room- the best in the hotel we were told by the receptionist, the views towards the lake, the size and the bathroom with jaquzzi, his and hers sink and separate shower unit was just the best we have ever experienced.
A note also to congratulate the service of the staff- from the receptionist, butlers, and dining room staff are a credit to the hotel- everyone of them !
The spa was also the best ever- the outdoor hot tub was to die for after a hard days walking!

Room Tip: Rooms in the main Hall with lake views- go for a suite well worth the spacious / luxury accomodation

Stayed with my husband for a weekend break in a deluxe room with a lake view. Staff exceptional, knowledgable about the hotel, the products they serve and the source of ingredients . Not pushy at all and provided outstanding service. The staff are clearly an absolute credit to the hotel and should be congratulated. Hotel exceptionally clean with an abundance of added extras with no extra cost. Had meals in the lakeside restaurant and the brasserie and both were fabulous. Didnt use the spa but other guests raved about it. Importantly it seemed that many of the guests that stayed at the same time had been before and it is clear to see why. Already recommended to my family and friends.
A perfect break we will be returning.

Room Tip: personnaly preferred rooms in the main house.

Twenty two girl friends assembled to enjoy my birthday weekend away. I decided to use the beautiful setting to the max and we all wore long dresses for dinner on the first evening. The hotel staff were in the background 'polite and helpful', not at all pushy but proactive eg in suggesting coffee in the lounge for instance which was a great suggestion having eaten our way through 6 courses it was good to change rooms and relax over coffee. Two of the girls in our party were chefs and were really impressed by the food, menus provided a lot of variety, and to get eg the cooking of scallops right when cooking for such numbers is applaudable. The quality of the food and that it's locally sourced impressed me too. Accommodating us in our own private dining room provided a special touch. If you like spas the facilities are excellent, the outdoor hot tub - wow, the pool a good size and lovely extras like the neck massage, a really powerful waterfall. All faciities are done to a really high spec. Room 148 is closest to the spa and so we just donned our robes and went straight there. I didn't book any treatments, I had basic treatments done at my salon close to home prior to getting there. It might be an idea to make the more 'ordinary treatments' more competitive on price to encourage business. Six of us went clay pigeon shooting which we all enjoyed, Brian was a good tutor and very entertaining. The hotel staff were very helpful in organising a champagne reception and storage of the cake for me - all in all Armathwaite Hall provided a wonderful venue for my celebrations, - overall it was an amazing experience, I'll remember my 50th birthday there forever and so will my guests.

Room Tip: The rooms along the corridor to the spa have TV's in the bathroom !

This was our first trip to Armathwaite Hall and indeed to the northern lakes so it was 'hit or miss' but it was a real hit! We were there for a very special occasion and everything about the hotel, the spa and the staff helped to make sure that it was. Just the right level of attentioon from the staff and the room was superb with stunning views. The ambience was great - make sure you take time to have a drink before dinner -and use the brasserie for a snack during the day. That the surrounding area is not crowded, unlike the more southerly lakes, was just the icing on the cake. Go there and enjoy!

Room Tip: In a real sense you get what you pay for but the lake views are superb and ever changing.
