“Stunning views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014

This lake is worth a visit. We were staying at the nearby Armathwaite Hall and this was a few minutes walk away. It offers stunning views along the lake and the valley of hills. Take a picnic and sit by the water and enjoy the stunning views on offer.

“" Not the best of Lakes "”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 June 2014

Nothing out of the ordinary perhaps due to its remoteness from the other lakes. Sailing club was closed on day of visit, may not like visitors to use their facilities. No other attractions to make people to stop.

“St. Bega's Church”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014

Should you ever be in the area of Bassenthwaite Lake, the only true lake in the Lake District, then you must pay a visit to St. Bega's church which is situated near the lakeside. Just a short walk from The Ravenstone Manor ( 2 miles there and back ) it is well worth the effort. Very tranquil. Inside the church there is a table with over 50 copies of the New Testament each in a different language. Most interesting. Don't forget to put something in the box.
