The Hotel is in a lovely location , It has a nice family feel not corperate and impersonal like many hotels these days,
The new owners are only to willing to help you with any aspect of making your stay enjoyable and take the extra steps to try and think of anything you may need , They are very aproachable and friendly.
They are surrounded by excellent staff , who are always curtious, helpful and friendly.
Also superb Chef's (even if I do always put weight on by the time I return home) Worth every calorie though.
Maybe I should tackle the walks a little more .
As I have stayed at the Ravenstone before it was nice to see little changes being made to the place , and I look forward to our next visit to see the many other improvments they have planned to enhance the already lovely hotel.
I wish you all the best with your future at Ravenstone and I hope you can cope without all the sunshine you had in America.
To anyone wondering should they visit this hotel , Think no more just get it booked you will love it.(I promise)

We have stayed in Keswick over a number of years, but this has to be one of the most comfortable, friendly, and quality all round hotels. The standard from all staff was second to non.
The quality of food was first class. The management staff were friendly and made us feel like one of the family. The atmosphere was relaxing and very comfortable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Lake District. Hopefully we will revisit The Ravenstone in the very near future. We stayed in Room 3, we woke up to a view which was breathtaking. Lovely room with double aspect windows and a four poster bed.

Spent two nights here, sadly the weather was very wet but like so many other reviewers we were almost overwhelmed by the warmth and openness of the welcome we received. The owners are relatively new to this hotel and to running hotels in most cases but they have an enthusiasm and energy that I'm sure has got them through many difficulties. Like other reviewers we enjoyed the log-fire whilst sitting in the bar chatting. Because the hosts are so friendly it rubs off and even those who are normally quite reserved start to chat.
The new owners told us that they have made a number of improvements to the hotel since taking over and they have lots of plans for the future. This is a nice place to spend a few days I suspect it will become a great place to visit as their plans develop.

My husband and I have just returned from a two night break at the Ravenstone Hotel. From beginning to end the whole experience was wonderful. When we pulled up outside the hotel we were greeted by Kim, one of the owners, who welcomed us into their home. That little gesture was the start of an exceptional standard of care afforded to us during our stay. We were shown around the hotel and then invited to have a coffee or tea in the dining room. The tea and coffee is free and freshly brewed which is a lovely touch and such a welcome thought. Tea and coffee is served daily 10-12pm (accompanied by the most beautiful home made biscuits!) and again in the afternoon 2-5pm (can you believe with homemade cake or scone!). Our room was extremely comfortable and clean and looked out to the stunning lake and beautiful countryside. There was a constant supply of biscuits, coffee, hot chocolate and milk provided in the room and a beautiful range of shower gel accompanied you in the well appointed shower. The food is glorious and extremely well priced, all fresh and home cooked with an extensive menu. The Pavlova beckoned to be chosen by me! A big plus was the excellent service and friendliness of all the staff at the hotel. Kim, Cherin, Adam and Tina, the owners are truly exceptional. They are courteous, endearing, caring, and fun to be with and more importantly have a genuine desire to share their wonderful home with you. They are interested in your views and often joined us during the day for coffee and chat. In the evening we loved their company and we often all sat round the log fires in the lounge with other guests laughing together and munching their endless bowls of sweets and home made mints (Tina, those mints are to die for!). Their theme for this weekend was Valentines Day and all guests received a gift of delicious chococlates in their room. Hearts and chocolates, what is there not to like about that! The hotel decor is so tasteful and the ambience second to none. We will definitely be returning to this beautiful gem which nestles in Bassenthwaite because it really is undeniably a taste of pure excellence. Kim, Cherin, Adam and Tina are a credit to themselves and to sum up - 'sitting by their log fire is just like being at home'. Wonderful.

Myself and my wife spent a Valentines break at the Ravenstone. The welcome from the new American owners was friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The room had a great view and was very clean and quiet. We had excellent meals in the restaurant at a reasonable cost. Highly recommended.

We agree that we have found a gem. The place has such, history, character and charm but it always makes us happy when our guests have a good time and are willing to share their views.

The distance from Keswick is perfect, because you are close enough but can appreciate the wonderful location and countryside views.

Come back and see us again soon, and thank you for the feedback

Myself & my husband had an absolutely fantastic weekend away at the ravenstone hotel for my birthday, the reception on arrival was warm & welcoming, very friendly & accomodating staff and owners. We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived & throughout our stay, we felt the owners & staff actually cared and did their upmost to make our stay fantastic. The room was clean & comfortable with gorgeous views and the hotel itself is stunning, very comfortable and a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. The food was lovely, we had breakfast and dinner both days & no complaints....can recommend the lamb & the stewed apple dessert with cinnamon. The hotel is not too far from keswick, a few mins drive or a nice walk! We would definately recommend the ravenstone and would love to go back! Well done chenin, kim, tina and adam on all your hard work, it truly shows.
