Diane and I were celebrating our 45th Wedding Anniversary earlier this month. A former colleague of mine recommended Ravenstone Manor. His comments were spot on; we were welcomed most warmly, the room was comfortable and well-equipped, the meals were all excellent, the views were lovely, the setting perfect........ I could go on, let it suffice for me to say that Kim and all her colleagues are doing a magnificent job and their hotel deserves to go from strength to strength. We are planning a day trip to the Lakes in the next fewdays and will go out of our way to have coffee at the Ravenstone.

From the very start and warm welcome & tour of the facilities by one of the owners, Kim, we knew we were on to a good thing and had made a great choice for the next 3 nights of our 5-week tour of the UK. All the delightful owners never failed to impress - guests are made to feel special within the olde world ambience of this lovely manor hotel. Even though they are relatively new to this hotel, they (& their team of staff) have managed to balance exemplary service provision without intrusiveness and all within a relaxed and comfortable environment. And then there's the food..... great variety, excellent quality and all served in a charming dining room by personable staff, that is of course, after pre-dinner & canapes served in either the bar or lounge! And then after a sublime meal you are invited to partake in coffee and homemade chocolates alongside the fire in the lounge. This is dining at its best! I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND this accommodation to any guest seeking comfort, style and value for money! We left feeling very content and entirely satisfied.

Visited the Ravenstone Hotel for two nights mid week after purchasing a KGB deal.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, which is conveniently situated for exploring the area. The rooms are clean and functional, with the staff happy to help if they can. Tea/Coffee and biscuits are available in the room.

We made use of the bar and games room in the evening and found this great as we sometimes find when visiting rural hotels that you end up going to your room early as it is so quiet, but not here.

The breakfast was great, served fresh to order in a timely fashion.

We did use the dining room on one of the nights, and found the food to be good. For the size of the hotel, we also found there to a good selection of wines on offer. The bar prices were reasonable in comparison to other similar type hotels we have visited.

Overall a pleasant relaxing stay in a quiet but friendly hotel. Would return.

Myself and my husband have just stayed at the Ravenstone Manor and it was absolutely lovely. The owners couldn't do enough for us and made our parents anniversary weekend just perfect. The food is also excellent and extremely good value for money. There's a really cosy bar and lounge and an excellent games room. The views from the hotel are stunning. There's a real caring feel in this hotel and from a service point of view that's the main thing. The owners haven't been in there long and I'm sure they will get around to updating all of the rooms but the most important thing is the way in which you are treated which is extra special. I would definitely go back and would definitely recommend this hotel. It's not lively but a really great quiet place to relax, be well looked after and eat some really great food.

Room Tip: My parents upgraded their room and had the most stunning room at the front of the hotel with huge ba...

Lori,

So glad your parents anniversary was so nice. We were pleased to be part of that! Enjoying yourself and relaxing is the hallmark of a good vacation.

We are actually in the process of updating the rooms bit by bit to give that extra comfort level that our guests deserve. Come back soon to take a look.

For me & my wife this was a perfect weekend away from our young family to relax & ''YES'' talk to each other, we came away very relaxed & refreshed, The staff are so friendly & welcoming from the minute you get there you feel at ease, The food was amazing especially evening meals (very tasty & well presented) The location is beautiful too, yet near enough the our favourite Lakeland town of Keswick to find stuff to do, I would definatly recommend this Hotel for a quite weekend away / or for a walking weekend away, the bath in our room was like a swimming pool & after a walk in the Mountains very nice to relax in, I would go there with my kids 8 & 10 as the games room was very good (free) and could keep them entertained for hours. On the whole a very very pleasant Lakeland weekend made even better by the hospitality at Ravenstone.

Craig,

Wonderful that your weekend away was what you expected. Spending quality time with your wife is important and next time the kids will come along as well. We have plenty for them to do! Looking forward to seeing all four of you.

We enjoyed our stay very much and would certainly come again. The owners and staff were very friendly. The area is beautiful so much to do and see. We stayed for 2 nights but we would stay for longer next time. Had a meal in the restaurant on the first night, and it was over and above what we expected plus free bottle of wine included with our break. Hope you do another KGB deal as we are looking to come again in July.
