Food and service great. Room a lttle on the small side, difficult for two people to pass between end of bed and dressing table, there was however good provision for clothes. Recently decorated room well appointed and very clean. The towels were not changed during six day stay, I personnaly don't find this a problem but some might. Some music in the dinning room would help.

Thankyou for the review. It is very difficult to please everyone with music in the dining room as some people like to have some peace and quiet. I am sorry your towels were not changed. If you had mentioned it a member of staff they would have been happy to change them.

we got a great deal with late rooms.com.we saw all the great reviews on trip advisor and we were not dissapointed.thefood was outstanding and there was a very good wine list at reasonable prices. on the last night we paid the £8 supplement each for the aberdeen angus steak and it was as good as we,ve had anywhere.this is a lovely old hotel wih bags of character, spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. the hotel is just north of keswick and is great for exploring the rest of the lakes. we would definately recommend this hotel to anyone and look forward to returning soon..... dave and karen... liverpool

Wonderful hotel in a wonderful location. Best of all the hotel caters for a gluten free diet and I had the best food away from home since I was diagnosed as a coeliac 10 years ago. Helpful, friendly staff.
