My husband and I and two friends spent our joint 40th wedding anniversaries here and we intend returning with or without an excuse! We received a warm welcome from Rachel and were shown to our cosy and well-appointed rooms with beautiful views. The beds are comfortable and roomy and there is plenty of hot water to enjoy a bath after a walk, with thick white towels and plenty of toiletries if you need them. The meals are quite stunning - tasty, filling and beautifully presented. Breakfast is also a treat, with home-baked bread, porridge, English breakfast, fruit, yogurt and cereals. The location is perfect, with walks of all types from the hotel and not too far from Keswick, Penrith and Cockermouth if you feel the need to spend a day away from the fells. So, thanks to Rachel, Val, Antonio, the chef, the other nice waitress and the friendly front of house gentleman. You helped make our anniversary very special.

Stayed for 2 nights in room 8. Yes the room is in need of a refurb but it was clean, spacious and the hospitality was excellent. Stayed for a meal the first night, was very good. Breakfast was spot on! Exactly what you want before a good walk. Would recommend if you are wanting a good base close to Keswick.

I normally go camping through all sorts of weather in the Lake District but decided to stay just outside of Keswick in Bassenthwaite. I was greeted by the manager Rachel who was really polite and friendly. We were immediately offered a free upgrade as a birthday present which was really nice. We walked in to the room with a four poster bed and once Rachel had left, could not believe i was staying in such a luxurious place. The room was so nice, the bathroom was gorgeous. The bed was so comfy that i fell asleep at 9:30 pm the first night. The shower was really nice too, i didn't want to get out. The breakfast was delicious, I had full English and eggs Benedict on separate occasions and been a big food lover, this was to my liking. I loved staying at Ravenstone Lodge, having only 10-15 minutes to drive to Keswick was an added bonus too. I would recommend to anyone to stay here,

This is our second visit here. We loved it the first time, we loved it the second time, and with a bit of luck, we will be back a third time. It really is a home away from home, one of the most peaceful places on earth. We ate in the bistro in the evenings and the meals were excellent. Breakfast was as good as we remembered. Great room, very clean.
