We have just spent a great weekend in your hotel. The room we had was first class and the food was to die for. The staff are very friendly and helpful, giving advice on what to visit and where to walk. Thanks to all.

We booked last minute but what a great decision. From the warm welcome when we arrived, through the fabulous dinner and great night's sleep in a truly comfy bed and then a wonderful breakfast of Eggs Benedict our stay was flawless. It was so clear everyone really wanted you to relax and have a great stay. We'll be back for sure and highly recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 5 which was very comfortable with views over the conservatory into the valley.

My wife and I had a weekend break at this "homely" hotel. The owner made us very welcome and we must comment on the quality of food produced by the chef which certainly wasn't over priced and we ate in both nights. Room was comfortable and we enjoyed our pots of tea in the conservatory, which was lovely and warm. Breakfast was a great way to start the day and substantial. Can walk straight from the hotel towards Skiddaw and Keswick readily accessible just down the road, but not walking. Lovely photographs adorn the walls, taken by the owner. A lovely weekend in a quiet and pleasant part of the Lakes well worth the journey to the north Lakes from Lancashire rather than the easier route into the south Lakes, and wouldn't hesitate to return.

My husband and me have just come back from a two nights stay here in Ravenstone Lodge, we didn't want to come home because 2 night's just wasn't enough. We stayed in the four poster room which was lovely and comfortable and very homely with fantastic views. The conservatory was our favourite on a night, it was so cozy and warm and inviting. The staff were all friendly especially Mike the owner, he was funny and very informative. We ate both night's in the Bistro, the first night steak and ale pie with home made chips and veg, the second night beer battered fish with home made chips and peas, the fish was huge and the chips were to die for, it was good quality food at a good price too, the breakfast's were also fantastic, the full works if you wanted it or a selection of bread's and jam plus cereal's etc, all yummy.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our weekend away and staying here at the lodge has really made it special and memorable. Thank you to to all the staff and owner's for this experience

Room Tip: The four poster was quiet

This is a true gem. Small enough to have personal feel, but professional and smartly run. The décor is very good although the bathroom was slightly in need of upgrading (due this year apparently) This will definitely be a place we return to. The food was well presented, full of flavour and good value, we ate in and can heartily recommend both the Bistro and Restaurant. The chef was more than happy to accommodate a special diet, and was very friendly. The breakfast was truly stunning, with a very good range of options. The small bar has an impressive selection of whisky and they will even get in your favourite tipple if you let them know in advance! Mike and team, you are stars and we look forward to returning soon.

Just stayed for 3 nights at this fantastic place, got to be the best hotel we have stopped at while in the Lake District, mike the owner was just so helpful and accommodating, after a long days walking we just relaxed in the conservatory with a few well earned drinks, don't bother eating out just look at the menu in the restaurant, food was excellent and the staff were very friendly & helpful.
The breakfast menu is very varied and more than good portions, in fact we had the light cooked breakfast and was more than enough, great stay we will be back when next in Keswick

We stayed in the Ravenlodge hotel for four nights last September. It was easy to find, directly off the main road. The parking area is big so we had no problems to find a space. When we were shown to our room we were a bit disappointed at first, because it seemd to be smaller than what we booked. When we spoke to the manager about it he offered to compensate us with a free meal, which we accepted. The room, although small, was nicley decorated and cosy. It was also well heated, which was an important factor as well since the weather wasn't the best. The bathroom however needs some upgrading. It had linoleum on the floor and the shower cubicle and sink just seemed a bit outdated.

The breakfast was very good. We could chose between porridge or a full English breakfast. In addition there were cereals, toast and their home made jams, which were delicious by the way.

The best about this B&B though is its location. It is really like on the pictures that you can find on the internet, including the sheep :-) In general it is a good place for hiking or to explore the lake dstrict by car.

One last thing that I would like to mention is the fact that they have free books and board games for their guests. It came in quite handy since there is not much evening entertainment to be found near the hotel due to its remote location.

Room Tip: standard rooms are very small
