“Saving the African Penguin”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

Previously known as Penguins Eastern Cape, this facility was taken over by SANCCOB a few months ago. The facility is located on the premises of the historical Seal Point lighthouse that was built in about 1878.
Although they concentrate mainly on rehabilitating the threatened African Penguin, the centre also takes in all types of seabirds - Gannets, Kormorants and even other penguins. You may just be fortunate to also see a few Macaroni (Rock-hoppers) penguins or even on occasion one of the larger penguin species.
The area also has some lovely walks along the coast and through a Nature and Floral Reserve where visitors can experience the beautiful coastal fynbos with some wonderful views from the tops of dunes.
