Loved the outdoor pools at this resort. Stunning scenery while soaking up the sunshine. Our room was clean, neat and tidy. It was small but fit our needs since we were outside most of the time. We drove there from Switzerland. Easy drive with lots of on sight parking. We had dinner at the hotel and it was average. The restaurant seating is in the hotel lobby. Had we stayed one more night we would have gone outside the hotel to another restaurant. The food tasted good but the service was a bit slow. Breakfast was included - typically European with meats, cheeses, breads, fruits and yogurts. We did not go hungry! I can see this resort as being a fantastic place for families. We had a relaxing weekend at Val Blu.

This was one of the best stops on our 14-day trip around Europe. Outstanding room, service, and facilities. The staff was very helpful. I would suggest that if you are in this area, you make a point of stopping here. At under $150, it was a good deal. Very nice swimming pools, both inside and outside. Wish we could have stayed for a couple days.

Probably being middle aged is my problem but the Val Blu on entering confuses since it is more like a council run Leisure Centre, staff in shorts and polo shirts drinking bottles of water, we soon realised our mistake and that we had booked into a "trendy" hotel. In truth it's probably very nice (if you like that sort of thing...) but the corridors were long the bedroom small with a toilet and shower room open to the rest of the room which lets face it is either very european or a "new fangled" idea. Restaurant consists of a small area of tables and chairs with few items on the menu under bright lights (stark would be more honest) and after a while the blue flooring - tiles with non slip circles gets to be enough. If you are young, enjoy punishing your body in their extensive gym and prefer the luxuries of a monk then please disregard my review. If you are used to staying in a hotel with a modicum of service and comfort then this will be a whole new experience for you!

My wife and I recently stopped to check out ValBlu on the recommendation of an (Austrian) friend while we were on a ski trip in Vorarlberg. We travel to Austria frequently, and have stayed in a lot of cool hotels while over there. This will definitely be the next place we visit, it’s amazing.

When we arrived, we asked at the front desk if we could see a room, and ended up getting a really nice tour of the entire property from the owner, Klaus, and his son, Michael.

The hotel is located close to 5 ski resorts (we skied that day at Damuls, which was great…). Rooms are modern and decorated “minimalist” (which I really like) They have normal “queen” rooms and larger family rooms with 2 beds. The showers have a window so you can look at the mountains while you’re showering…nice little thing.

The amazing part of the hotel is the pool and spa areas. They have 2 massive outdoor pools (closed in the winter…so we didn't go out for a closer look...) and a huge indoor pool complex. It’s got hot tubs, a water slide…a café…you really have to see it to believe it…I’ll post some pics soon. I can’t imagine a better place to soak after a long day snowboarding. Another nice little thing…they have an angled “heated wall” that you can lean on while you dry off. I’d never seen that before, but some ski places out west should get one of these.

The spa and work-out facilities are new and look amazing. In the spa they have 2 steam rooms and 2 saunas (all at different temperatures)…and one huge dry sauna “cave”
with a stream running through it. You have to walk about 30 yards outside to get to it…and at night Klaus said they light candles along the path…very cool. They just hired a masseuse from Bali to give massages, and have a whole facial/manicure thing going on. My wife could spend days just “spa-ing”.

They have indoor and outdoor rock climbing walls, a really big gym, an indoor “field turf” cage soccer field. They have a sports medicine department if you need to do PT! With doctors! Michael told me that some of the local pro soccer players have stayed there for rehab after injuries.

I really can’t wait to stay at this place. The owners were nice and super proud of everything.

Awesome place. I'll put pictures up ASAP...
