If you come to island Korčula you should definitely visit the main cathedral in the old city and its campanile. The view from the top is splendid!

We visited Korcula on a day trip from Dubrovnik and it was well worth the visit. The Cathedral is steeped in history and contains some of the artefacts of wars long ago to keep the pirates away. Well worth a visit

The cathedral and its beautiful campanile are unmissable - visible atop the old town from any angle - and full of interest. The entrance has a lovely tympanum, Venetian Gothic points sitting within a symmetrical Romanesque half-circle and flanked by two sinuously turning lions. Inside, the medieval pulpit bears close scrutiny, as do the Corinthian columns which support the nave. From which classical site were they purloined, I wonder? Over the sacristy entrance is a lively relief of St.Michael spearing a very toothy devil. There is also a stunning silver encased icon, which one guide says is 13C. The naveitself is out-of-square, probably due to the constricted site. The campanile is well worth the vertiginous climb, with the best views of the old city anywhere. You can see all the little curving alleys, the ramshackle backs of houses, the hidden balconies and rooftop gardens. On either side of the little square are two dainty Romanesque chapels.

Nice cathedral to visit you have to pay to get in, no photos allowed. You can go up the tower and take photos by the clock tower. It is steep steps and camped
