First I would like to thank the majority of people who stayed at Ed’s Cottage, and for your honesty regarding your experiences at the cottage. You positive reviews of the cottage and surrounding area, is the reason we decided to stay here.
Secondly, and most importantly I would like to thank the Cottage owner, Ed for providing an extremely comfortable and relaxing environment. The area of Kapaau and North K are absolutely amazing! Very relaxed environment, with a small town feel. We were looking for a nice quiet place, away from the hustle and bustle of heavily trafficked tourist areas, and we found it here at Ed’s Cottage. My wife certainly enjoyed the attention that lovey gave as well....LOL. Until next time Ed! Very cool experience. Mahalo.D
This is a beautifully designed and appointed tropical cottage tucked away in a quiet neighborhood and facing a tranquil private garden. It is self service and the owner has furnished the kitchen thoroughly. The location places you very close to the shops, restaurants and other services of the quaint historic villages of Hawi and Kapaau. This is comfortably off the main beaten path of Big Island tourism, yet convenient to Waiamea, Waipo Valley, Pololu Valley and the South Kohala beaches, the best on the island.
Ed really made us feel welcome and we very much enjoyed our stay. It was a perfect place not only to chill but to access the places of interest in the local area of the Island. Many thanks for your hospitality Ed.
Ed is a fantastic host full of local knowledge, history and advice on the best beaches on the island. We were looking for a place for a 10 day holiday and we felt that Ed's cottage was the perfect base for us to go and explore other aspects of the island. Nearby Hawi town has a weekend farmers market that's well worth a visit for example and all the great beaches on the West side of the island are around 30 minutes away, accessible by car along a road built over alien world-like former lava flows. It was a great place to relax and although we didn't quite stretch far away enough from the beach to visit the observatory nor the volcano - we most certainly hope to do so on a future visit to the island and hopefully another stay at Ed's. Most definitely recommended and particularly, as in our case, for an extended stay.
