This is a fantastic hotel! Great rooms overlooking the coast and the pool with superb staff who are always friendly and pleased to see you. Try the rooms on the fifth floor with their great views and lovely private balconies.

I fail to understand why this hotel is not rated number 1. It is consistently outstanding and we always have had a great holiday here. I have stayed in a few hotels in Tolon and this is easily the best and just beats the Minoa.

Keep fit walking up the hill, enjoy the pool, and relax with a beer or a cocktail overlooking Tolon!!

We have just returned from 15 nights at the King Minos Hotel in Tolon - the hotel was absolutely magnificent, spotlessly clean, a great pool and a wonderful location with brilliant views. The staff are the best we have ever encountered anywhere, very friendly, always smiling and ever willing to help with anything you might need, nothing was too much trouble for them. We cannot wait for a return visit, if not this year then next year is a must. An experience to savour. We WILL be back !

Room Tip: A sea view room is an absolute must !

I have been to this hotel many times - it's attraction is magnetic! The views over Tolon bay are magnificent. The hotel is clean with many facilities - as listed by my travelling companion Tzoulh below. It is a great place to escape to - leave your cares back home. The staff are professional, friendly and helpful - and one of the reasons I am writing this review is because since Tzoulh wrote hers and mentioned about BBC World coming and going, immediate action was taken, the engineers came and we received the best reception - so thank you Argiris! If you need help while you are here, just say so. Thank you for an excellent holiday.

Room Tip: Book a room with a sea view - it's breathtaking.

I have stayed in many places in Greece but Tolon is where my heart is and the King Minos has become my second home. The rooms are very clean and comfortable - those with a sea view are the best! The rooms have a flat screen TV (BBC World comes and goes), a fridge, iron and ironing board. Towels are changed daily and bed linen regularly. There are free toiletries which are of a high standard. The hotel has a beautiful clean pool, sunbeds, a pool bar where snacks can be bought, a small gym, bicycles for hire, a pool table, a table football game, indoor bar, and an excellent restaurant with buffet-style meals. Check the times and book your place. The new chef is Panaghiotis and his food is first class. There is also a buffet-style breakfast with an excellent choice. The staff are fantastic - very friendly, helpful and professional. There is usually a member of the Georgidakis family around - Argiris, Konstantinos or Kalli - all well supported by the receptionists Dimitra and Anthi, the bar staff/restaurant staff Kristina and Maria, plus Elina and Tassos, and the man who fixes everything Jannis. The cleaners are brilliant too - they are good friends, very hardworking - Maria, Maria, Dionysia, Arta and Voula. Kostas the night guard also works very hard and we can sleep safely with him around. I love all these people - they make my holidays very special. This hotel is situated up a steep hill which might put some older people off but the views are spectacular. Well worth visiting. Tzoulh x

Spent a long weekend in May at this lovely place. Just 10 minutes from the charming town of Nafplio, Tolo is a seaside getaway. The hotel is situated above the traditional homes and has a great view. Rooms are clean and spacious, bathrooms renovated and good. Rooms have an iron and ironing board!!! Wonderful, big balconies where you can sit and enjoy the sunset. Breakfast was continental but offers a wide variety of food (just wish it was until 10:30 instead of 10:00 am). Pool very nice. Also has a small gym and sauna. Very kind and friendly employees. Free WiFi in rooms and throughout the hotel.
A bonus about this place is its location. As it's so close to Nafplio, you can spend the day by the beach (or pool) and then go to Nafplio for an evening exploring its many lovely streets, shops, bars, restaurants.

Hotel King Minos is a great hotel! We stayed there for two nights. The room had an awesome sea view and it was very clean! The breakfast was nice with many options. The sauna is not in the price of the hotel! It is very close to the beach and it's a nice walk till you get there but the swinning pool is perfect!Tolo ,generally, is a very beautiful place for vacations with many options. It has a sandy beach, nice bars, many tourist shops and great greek tavernas! I definetely recommend this hotel for vacations!

Room Tip: rooms of the 4th floor are the best because of the view!

We stayed at the King Minos Hotel for 4 nights after staying at 3 nights in Glyfada (Athens). Some of the reviews on this site say Athens is a 2 hour drive away from Tolo, it probably is if you drive at 130KM on the motorway that goes halfway to Tolo, in reality it takes about 2.5 hours to 3 hours with a stop on route.

Tolo was the perfect contrast to the bustle of Athens. If you want peace and tranquility then Tolo is the resort for you. Tolo is not a package type holiday resort. On our visit there was more locals about that tourists. The King Minos is situated on an elevated position up a steep hill, so you need to bear that in mind if you have mobility problems.

The hotel is a good base for visiting all the historic sites that are within easy reach of the hotel although you do need a car. There are boats trips from Tolo to the nearby islands.

We were allocated a sea view room, which is a must at this hotel as the view of the bay, the hills and the islands are superb. The room itself was very clean, spacious, bedside tables, large fridge, flat screen TV (only 2 English language channels, RT- which is Russian owned so you get a Russian perspective on world events and BBC World which had poor reception at our time of visiting). The small bathroom had a jacuzzi shower, toiletries and a large sink. There was no shower cap in the bathroom or plastic cups which you normally get in hotels. Towels changed daily if required. Bed sheets changed every 2 to 3 days.

There was a mosquito repellent to plug in (there were 2 flying around our room at night but they did not last long when the repellent was plugged in).

Large balcony overlooking the pool and wonderful sea view. 2 chairs provided too.

Air conditioning worked well, though I have known more powerful versions. It seemed to work better on some days more than others.

Free Wi-Fi was excellent, very fast but for some reason you needed to keep entering your password every day. There are 2 computer terminals available too in the bar area. There is a very comfortable lounge and neat bar area with a small table football game and a pool table - this does not detract from the surroundings.

Free bicycle hire and there is small gym too. Good sized swimming pool - 3m deep at one end, plenty of sunbeds around the pool side.

We found breakfast to be excellent. There is a small cold meat, cheese and salad selection. Hot food consisted of bacon, fried egg, scrambled egg, small sausages, omelette and boiled eggs. There was also fresh fruit pieces such as apples and oranges. Also tinned fruit to go with the natural yogurt, good selection of biscuits and jams, honey, breads, pastries and cornflakes.

Excellent selection of teas, coffee seemed weak (this seems to be a problem wherever you stay in Greece and is not like you get in France, Germany, Spain or the UK) so we took small coffee sachets from the UK to put in our coffee as we normally do when visiting Greece. We did not need to use them every morning as the coffee did improve. Fruit juice available but not fresh, again this seems to be the norm in Greece.

The evening meal at the time of our visit was €13.00 for 3 courses, buffet style, eat as much as you like. Eating evening meal in the elegant dining room with the stunning view was priceless.
We found the meal again to be excellent - salad, dressings, two selections of hot meats, only one potato variation each night. Pasta was served one night alongside the meat and a fish dish and the stuffed tomatoes.

Dessert during our stay was cake or souffle. There was restrictions on when the restaurant was open - seemed to depend on how full the hotel was so best to check with reception to see if it is open on the nights you intend to dine there.

We cannot fault the staff who were always helpful, obliging, pleasant and well presented.

We intend to return!

Room Tip: A sea view room is a must.
