“Good value”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 August 2014

We visited May / June 2014 for a friends wedding.

The hotel was very clean, staff helpful especially as we spoke very little of the language.

The breakfast (continental) was pleasant and the views excellent over the ocean.

There was a pool, which was clean and had areas to enjoy the sunshine.

Acitrezza itself is a seaside harbour town with plenty of places to eat.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the ocean - excellent views

We've just returned from 6 days at the Eden Riviera. It's a curious place, eccentric but quaintly charming, we LOVED it. The hotel is set on a steep hill just back from the port of AciTrezza ( a bracing twelve minute climb) and in truth it has a rather shabby, forlorn feel to it - perfectly clean, but very much in need of some TLC - loo seats can be a bit slidey, curtains don't always pull properly, that sort of thing. But the views from the front bedroom verandahs are to DIE for - and ditto the main front terrace of hotel itself - stunning vistas across the old harbour and onto the glittering Ionian sea. Etna too can be seen from the side. The swimming pool at the rear of the establishment is lovely - secluded, quiet, simple, well maintained and very relaxing. In fact the whole place has an air of that hotel in the movie Mr Hulot's Holiday - sweet and quiet. With the exception of a rather surly young couple who manned the desk (barely) on Saturday afternoon, the regular staff were absolutely lovely - Ludovico , Nadia and the regulars could not have been kinder or more helpful, and did everything they could to assist. Breakfasts simple but sustaining , served in a large airy old-fashioned breakfast room with dusty chests of drawers and large sixties type custard coloured sofas giving out onto the verandah. One word of warning - they DO NOT do evening meals or lunch , so you have to walk down to a mouth watering local deli (coffee e crude) or eat out. The resort itself is a funny old place, but boy it's SO italian - so if you want the real Italian experience , this is for you. Ditto the Eden Riviera - it isn't for everyone , but we had a fabulous time there. Very memorable. Recommend it...

Room Tip: Get a sea view whatever you do - it doubles - in fact, triples the pleasure of staying there... Room...

Hotel was nice, clean, very quite, good location and friendly staff. But it should be no more than 2 stars. It needs renovation, because everything is old, no bar, Internet connection was not good. Breakfast was poor, no fruits and vegetables only cakes from supermarket.

I have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Sicily. The hotel is in an ideal location to explore the many wonders Sicily has to offer. I travelled by bus everywhere and found this cheap, easy and convenient. After a tiring day out the hotel provided a haven of peace and tranquility on the wonderful terrace with beautiful plants and spectacular views of the sea. I was lucky enough to have a room that also took in that wonderful view. The room was comfortable with a nice bed and good shower and plenty of storage space, fridge and safe. The linen was changed in the week I was there and the towels etc are changed daily. The pool area in the gardens at the back of the hotel is another gem and again is in a relaxing and peaceful setting.

Breakfast in the morning is substantial with plenty of choice and is fresh every day. It really sets you up for the day ahead.

This is a family run hotel and the owners are eager to help their guests experience the best their hotel has to offer with nothing being too much trouble. If you need anything, be it information or refreshments, all you have to do is ask. Someone is available 24 hours a day at Reception.

The village down from the hotel is a short walk and there are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from. If you don't want to go out the hotel serves wine, beer etc or coffee if you prefer!

I will certainly be going back again.

The hotel is very nice, with a charming old fashioned style, located in a quiet place slightly outside from the center that offers a great view on the sea.
It was a quiet place, convenient if you have a car (and are not afraid of climbs).
I recommend it if you don't want to stay in Catania.

A small hotel with some good features although the bedrooms do let it down by being rather small and old fashioned. Having said that however, the linens were clean and the bed very comfortable.

The breakfast was good and the public areas appealing - especially the sea facing terrace which has views that really are worth seeing. And there are plenty of good restaurants close by although you do need a car to get around comfortably.

Overall, it offers reasonable value for money and is a good base from which to explore the surrounding areas of Sicily. We would use it again.

Room Tip: Ideally you want a room with a sea view because that is quite special
