On arrival were greeted by the very friendly hosts Sylvie & Darren & family. There was no accommodation left in Takaka or Collingwood. We were offered the new addition to their accommodation their "Caravan". We had a delightful 2 days with full service to the new caravan. We did view the rooms that were not available on this occasion but we would recommend them as very clean & private. Our hosts booked our trip to Farewell Spit...a very informative afternoon out till sunset. It was an amazing trip with all the bird life & seals ...even stranded whales in the distance...very sad, we climbed sand dunes & watched the Sun set! Dined at the Mussel Inn....Bought Chocolates from Rosy Glow chocolate cottage...Visited the Pupu Springs in Collinwood...purest water in the world....checked out 3 beaches in Takaka.
This was a 1st in the area for us & I can recommend this Motel or Caravan & location.

Room Tip: Either the room's in the Motel or Caravan we can recommend.

We recently stayed for a night in a very comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean unit which had everything we needed - including a private deck where we sat in the sun to enjoy our breakfast. Darren and Sylvie were very welcoming and had booked our trip to Farewell Spit for us by the time we arrived. We will definitley be recommending this Motel to our friends.

We stayed here for 4 nights in Audust 2011 and were made very welcome, and we felt really at home and comfortable - it had everything we wanted. We would return to this motel

I stayed in a basic little room, sort of like a little holiday bach-type feeling really. Or maybe it's like staying at your friends holiday home while they are in the main house. It's very laid back and relaxed but the room was very clean and neat, has everything you need, though at zero degrees a lot of people would be looking for a bigger or better heater as it was pretty cold in there. I was fine and had I asked I am sure they would have obliged.

So very reasonably priced and comfortable. Stay here and be happy, this is rural New Zealand and this is the real thing accommodation-wise.

Best wishes

This is an historic old building which has been lovingly and tastefully restored with great photos of yesteryear. It is immaculate. The service and friendliness was A1 and the room was very very comfortable with lots of space. It included a kitchen area as well as private bathroom. Well worth your patronage.

We only stayed one night at the Station House but it felt like we were staying with family! It was warm and cozy, VERY private - though you knew that hosts Darren and Silvie were just around the corner if we needed something! They were so friendly and the place was SO quiet. A nice escape from the busy cities!

We stayed for 3 nights. Basic but spacious motel accommodation. Loved the french doors opening on to the garden. Limited evening dining choices in Collingwood.

Room Tip: Take a Farewell Spit tour
