Passing through the picturesque town of Clane on a hot summer sunny Sunday afternoon and suffering a little driving fatigue rendered us prone to a stop for some refreshments, and yet not looking forward to a traditional Sunday joint lunch. Kerbside signage and menu attracted us to stopping at Zest Café with its acre plus of parking available just off the main thoroughfare. With just a few Sunday diners left, and three chefs visibly ready to cook, we did not delay or complicate the order for two Pizza, one with Pepperoni and one with Chicken. Pleasant interior, nice wine list on the wall featuring wine available by the glass at reasonable prices. A few Sunday papers available for customers to read made the time pass quickly and before long the Pizza presented on wooden platters arrived crispy thin and delicious! Not a Pizza slicer in sight. Maybe trying to be different from Milano and others! A side of Chunky Chips ordered with Garlic Cream Sauce were superfluous and we had a struggle to finish all. Excellent presentation, attentive service, good coffee, clean clear drinking water, rendered our visit enjoyable and price was fine for Sunday fare, if one went wild ordering a variety of items for the Pizza, price could creep up! Will remember this place when passing through Clane again.
